I do agree that the children were genuinely upset, and that's a valid emotion. And I understand that it's typical to trot your family out in front of the camera for your speech, be it an acceptance or concession speech. And, I have to say, that his concession speech was fairly harmless, when it could have been a platform for all of his beliefs.
I just find it humorous that the entire family matched their outfits. It was like they were posing for the family Christmas Card. But, this seems to be a family thing, as there are pictures of his family dressed alike at a Steelers game, a Penn State Game, for Christmas, and for other events on his website.
i liked the point that dan savage made...that if santorum had shown any of the class of his concession speech while he was actually in office...he might still be in office today.
"Those children cuddled a dead baby. We can only imagine what other horrors they've seen."
You said it, Namo. Closure is one thing...holding the baby in your arms, saying goodbye. But taking a dead baby home to spend the night with your children, making them pose for photos with the body--exposing your kids to that? For what? Nightmares for years? That the Santorums exploited a personal tragedy for political gain is nauseating.
