Thanks To You To All Of You Who Prayed For My Mom

Thanks from the bottom of my heart. My Mom has been in the hospital for several days now with some unknown virus. She was severely dehydrated and many of her organs were beginning to shut down. Her tests came back today with a diagnosis of West Nile Virus. Although there is no cure she is starting to progress nicely with supportive treatment. I firmly believe that she is pulling through because of all the prayers that have been sent her way. Prayer does work. Also, she has a tremendous crush on her 30 something year old doctor and I am sure that helped as well.

She ate solid food for the first time in 10 days today as well as yelled at me. Yup, she's better.

My grandmother had WNV and she pulled out alright. It took them forever to diagnose it, months. It was a really scary time for us, but it turned out alright. I will continue to think of you and your mother and pray for you too. I'm glad she is doing better. You always know they're better when they yell at you.

It is a tough time. I am here in CT and she is in California. I made the arrangements for her to be hospitalized last week by calling the docs office and giving him a report. My brother the jerk called me later to tell me how innapropriate I was in doing that and it was none of my concern. When I spoke to her at home on Friday she was incoherent and took immediate action . So much for my dysfunctional and sick family.
