That's My Bush! on DVD

Comedy Central's short lived series That's My Bush! based on "life in the White House" is now on DVD. The show, which aired in early 2001, was a series by Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of South Park. It lasted only 8 episodes.
Ok, so this isn't exactly breaking news, I guess it was released Oct. 24, but I hadn't heard about it until yesterday.
I loved that show, I thought it was great. I was wondering if there were any fans of the show here on BWW.
It was more a parody on formulaic TV sitcoms than political satire. Though I thought both were represented well. Each episode dealt with a heavy, controversial issue, i.e. gun control, abortion, euthanasia, etc.

That's My Bush! on DVD

Matt & Trey were going to create a show about whoever won the 2000 Presidential election and were "95% sure Gore would win". So they started developing a series called Everybody Loves Al. Although I am not at all happy Bush "won", I certainly think it made for a better title!

Meh. I didn't care for TMB. They were trying too hard.

re: That's My Bush! on DVD

Interestingly, Timothy Bottoms played Bush...and then played him again in an ass-kissy, straight-to-video 9/11 deal that had him as a conquering hero.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

"straight-to-video 9/11 deal"

Actually, wasn't that the Showtime thing. I guess that counts as straight to video.

I loved TMB for what it was.

I think the real reason they didn't go past 8 episodes was that it was very expensive to produce.

re: That's My Bush! on DVD

This is wonderful news. Now I don't have to spend any time contemplating what I am getting EVERYONE for Christmas. I will be voted "most popular" this yuletide season, which is better than nothin'.

If only "The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail" were being released on DVD. The "Miss Popularity" crown would be mine year-round once everyone found that stuffed in their stocking. re: That's My Bush! on DVD

It could have running commentary by Leonard Pith Garnell.
