okay, so the french and spanish classes at my school just took their trips to paris/mexico. there's this one girl i have never ever gotten along with but who i have learned to be nice to. she went to mexico.
they all come back to school today, and, being friendly, i ask "kristin, how was your trip?" she commences to complain, and complain, and COMPLAIN!! they went on a 12-day trip to mexico, and she can't say a single good thing about it. she was frustrated that she couldn't find a chocolate chip cookie anywhere...excuse me?? that's a little..well, annoying to say after a trip to a different country.
i guess i'm just frustrated that she (who has never travelled anywhere except canada) can't appreciate going to a place where there is a really different culture, and can't come back realizing how lucky she is to have enough food, clean water, and money for unnecessary things. i went to mexico a few years ago, and i KNOW that's how i came back feeling.
AHH! sorry, i had to vent about that. it was driving me crazy all day.
"grace, you're stuffed in a box getting rid of ass plaque. let's face it, this evening is a bust."
