The "new" Trading Spaces, sans Paige Davis - your thoughts?

Ok. So I have given the new "host-less" format a try for the past few weeks and all I can say is I find it BORING. Paige really was the glue that held the hour together. The spark that was Ms. Davis is missing. Bad choice, TLC.

Your thoughts?

I didn't like Paige Davis. I liked the woman that originally hosted the show, Alex McLeod.

I kind of miss the 'Paige Cam'. But it's still a decent show.

i use to watch the show tradeing spases evryday but i dont find it so apealing anymore......

Actually, the original Trading Spaces on BBC was the best, with the best on-air team, bar none.

The American version, even the first incarnation, is a pale imitation, lacking joy, zest, fun and decorative sense and style.

That's just my opinin of course.

The new format is terrible. I don't care who the host is but they need one. Also they should go back to an emphasis on design and not the homeowners sob stories - boring.

I think this show got old a really long time ago. There used to be a time when myself and everyone I know was obsessed, but now I cannot stand it.


Alex was totally my girl. Paige was annoying most of the time. And I sort of got sick of them cheaply doing-over someone's house. The designs really started sucking and looking cheesey.

I like for Changing Rooms and Trading Spaces, but I like TS a little bit more. It has higher energy, better designs overall (though it depends on the designers in both shows), and the 1-hour format allows for more info for the viewers. CR doesn't really show how to do the projects very well. Alex was ok, but a more generic host than Paige. Paige definitely had a spark and personality that resonated with viewers which accounts for her celebrity and success. No other DIY host has become as famous as Paige. That says a lot.

Matt-- what about TY Pennington? He seems to be pretty popular now with that show Xtreme House Makeover. Anyone one like that one? I think it's pretty good....plus it's on right before Housewives!!!

I agree, Paige was good, but she did get annoying sometimes.
