The new Rolling Stone (out Friday) has a great cover story: Worst Congress Ever!

But here's an online preview of The 10 Worst Congressman and -woman. Though they might sound like some Bizarro World version of The Justice League, they sure ain't that. Without further ado, say hello to THE HIGHWAY ROBBER, THE DICTATOR, MR. PORK, THE BRIBE TAKER, THE KING OF PAYOFFS, MR. I was just visiting friends tonight in Pennsylvania who informed us that the November edition of Esquire also identifies its choices for worst congress members. They were thrilled to see Rick Santorum on the list. I mean, who wouldn't be?

We are on our way to Michigan so spending the night in Pittsburgh. We used to stay in Ohio whenever we drove to Michigan because it's really "mid-way." But since the 2004 election, I have refused to spend any of my hard-earned "liberal" money in the Buckeye State. (Sorry, papa!)

Speaking of Pennsylvania, what about hopelessly mediocre backbencher Joe Pitt who thinks that intelligent design is, well, intelligent?

This half-wit is my mother's congressperson, and he not only has never had an original thought, he may not have had any thoughts at all.

He ought to be Jay Johnson's new dummy.

Santorum may well be 'santorum', but he is an oddly effective Senator.

I wish these were trading cards. I hate most people in politics, and I mean hate. Anyone that can sit idly by on my dime and sign laws that limit civil liberties or endorse global hegemony are not getting my respect.

I can't belive the congressman from my former district, Ron "Dr. No" Paul didn't make the list. He does have the distinction of being one of the few Republicans to vote against the war, however, he's so strict in his rigid interpretation of the Consitution that he is completely ineffective. He also voted against the gay marriage amendment, but not because he's a big fan of the gays.

He also voted against giving a medal to Rosa Parks and Charles Schultz because he thought it was a waste of money.

A side note: This list could be renamed "The 10 Worst Hairstyles." Jerry Lewis? Shame! And it's obvious that Marilyn Musgrave really hates the gays, because no decent stylist would ever let her leave the house with that helmet. Sass!

I must correct my error:

It is Joe Pitts, as in more than one pitt, as in funky armPITTS, La Brea Tar PITTS, etc.

As for the trading card idea? Well, some enterprising souls made a fortune out of the al Qaeda playing cards. Go to it. Just make sure there is an awful piece of bubble gum stuffed in there too.
