HALLOWEEN is my FAVORITE Time of Year!
McDonald's needs to bring these back
The best Halloween episodes ever committed to sitcoms:
Time to watch the Paul Lynde Halloween Special again, nothing beats trash TV at this time of year!
Romantico, those are all great! I plan to steal them for Facebook.

I Saw What You Did (1965)
I really miss Woolworths!
The Paul Lynde Halloween Special Aired only once on Friday night October 29th,1976. I've watched it every year since I was in high school(yeah, I had a pretty good bootleg on VHS)Florence Henderson,Billy Barty,Witchie Poo(Billie Hayes)Tim Conway,Donny and Marie Osmond,Kiss,Roz 'Pinky Tuscadero' Kelly, but the all time highlight for me was seeing Margaret Hamilton recreating the Wicked Witch from the Wizard of Oz. Even though Margaret had to be in her 70's here, seeing in her in full make up was like movie magic for me.
Oh, and Bruce Villanche wrote some great jokes. " She has a striking resemblance to Betty White. But then so many witches do."
If you have not seen this special, you are in for a treat.

This spooky take on a Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, featuring Carol Burnett, Chita Rivera, Caterin Valente and Boris Karloff never gets old for me... http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xe4xw_boris-karloff-carol-burnett-sing_news
And nearly as brilliant:

The Paul Lynde Halloween Special is a Halloween-themed television special starring Paul Lynde broadcast October 29, 1976 on ABC. It featured guest stars Margaret Hamilton in her first reprisal of her role as The Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz. Also guest starring are Billie Hayes as Witchiepoo from H.R. Pufnstuf, Tim Conway, Roz Kelly, Florence Henderson, rock band KISS, Billy Barty, Betty White and, in an unbilled surprise appearance, Donny and Marie Osmond.
The Paul Lynde Halloween special is definitely something that needs to be seen to be believed. Not sure if it is treat except for Margaret Hamilton returning to her Wicked Witch of the West role. Kiss also somehow got onto this special, guess there was a quota every 70s icon(s) had to be appear on a TV variety show/special and this was the closest Kiss could get. But nothing is scarier than Paul Lynde and Florence Henderson sucking face.
It's one of those WTF 1970s moments--up there with The Brady Bunch's variety show done with Sid and Marty Krofft and their bizarre puppets, and the Star Wars Xmas Special (though at least I understand why the networks would be begging for a Star Wars Xmas Special and willing to put any SW crap on the air).
Great pics, Romantico! They haven't shown Hallowe'en is Grinch Night in ages, it seems. This part used to terrify me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeFaBvL72a8 Shiver
Thanks! Like I said, Halloween is my favorite and I love retro Halloween the most.
Re: the 'Psycho' pic--so THAT'S where I've seen Josh Romney's debate glare before. Not joking, I was reminded of something when I saw those scary debate photos, but couldn't figure out what.
Wow...I never knew that Grinch Halloween show even existed! I guess I was a bit too old for it at 14, but I'd assume my little sister would've wanted to see it.
^ I think you can youtube it. I forget where I first saw it. Obviously not new because I wasn't born until 1984. But, seeing it more recently, it was pretty scary.
I want to know when Halloween costumes you bought at the store turned into more than just a mask and smock thingy. I remember not being happy that my mom always made our costumes because they weren't from the store. But, now that I look at them, I think I did get the better end of the deal, quality wise.
