Tonight's episode was too predictable. It was obvious that Chris would be fired because he said "This task is impossible" before they showed Trump saying "You have to believe in your missions, or you will fail" or something like that. So obviously you knew that Apex would fail and chris would be fired.

Especially this late in the game, when Chris could've just hauled everyone in there instead of singling out the extra one.

I think it's because the PM's afraid that if he/she takes in an extra person, that person will hold a grudge against the PM the following week.

I think bringing 3 people creates more enemies. It also shifts responsibility which could work against the product manager. PM is the leader, therefore assumes the majority of the responsibility.
