I'm a big dork at heart and ever since I purchased The Archie Show: Complete Series DVD I pulled out my "The Absolute Best of The Archies" CD and uploaded it to my iPod and I haven't stopped listening to it since. Does anyone here have any favorite Archies song aside from the infamous "Sugar, Sugar"?
I love "Jingle, Jangle", "Get On The Line", "Bang-Shang-A-Lang", "Who's Your Baby" and "Sugar and Spice". Damn I'm old! LMAO! :)

I honestly don't remember any of them other than "Sugar, Sugar."
But "Bang-Shang-A-Lang" rings a bell.
...perhaps for the wrong reasons!

Now I feel like a real dork for starting this thread!
The music is really grade A bubblegum. It was all supervised by Don Kirschner and most of the songs were written and produced by Jeff Barry. Lead vocals were handled by the very talented Ron Dante with help from Toni Wine on backgrounds.

Oh, please, this is Dork Central.
I have a Flintstones CD that has "Twitch, Twitch" and "Open Up Your Heart and Let the Sunshine In," and all the other Beckrockin' songs.
I also have the 1977 disco Mickey Mouse Club album.
...and H.R. Pufnstuf and the Bugaloos CDs.
And anyone else here who "condemns" me, check out your own music collections FIRST.
I wish I remembered more of the Archie songs. I guess I zoned out on them.

I have an Archies record that was a cutout on the back of cereal box from the 60's.
Jingle Jangle on one side and Sugar Sugar on the other.
I loved the comics far too much.

Andy Kim was co-writer of Sugar Sugar and sang (with his voice sped up) on the record. He wrote a follow up but Kershner thought it way too "Adult" for the Archies. So Kim went solo and recorded "Rock me Gently" which became a huge #1 hit.
All great pop songs. Beautifully produced.
