and by purse you mean handbag....
There were those candy buttons on strips of paper (much like a cash register receipt) The candy store we used to live above (Bill and Fred's had a huge penny candy display when penny candy was still a penny) carried them. I lived for those things until one day when the yellow dots were fading into the purple dots a truly disgusting color of baby sh*t tan was made. It grossed me out so much I could never eat then again.

Taz, by "gigantic Sugar Daddies" I hope you are not referring to any PARTICULAR BWW posters?
They know who they are, joe.
Yes...I wouldnt know what the other kind smelled like.
Sugar Daddys, Sugar Mamas and, to a lesser degree (hee) Sugar Babies were a dentist's wet dream...

That is the problem Taz, I am afraid "they" do know who "they" are.
This thread is making me incredibly hungry.
I need to find a Sugar Daddy ASAP.
ZOTZ! Best. Candy. Ever. And very difficult to find. As a kid, we could only get them from the ice cream man. The green ones were my favorite. I may have to order some of those.
MisterMAtt, those peanut butter cookies were Nutter Butters by Nabisco. They weren't short lived. They were around for quite a while. I remember then as a kid and used to get then in college when I went home to my folks.
Guess they gave way to the present day Nutter Butters

DOODLE GET OUT OF MY HEAD! I was muttering that to myself as I scrolled to your post.
They still make that old kind of Nutter Butter cookie - I forget what they call it now. I bought some for my kids not that long ago...
Apparently, they are now known as Nutter Butter Creme Patties. I hate the Nutter Butter crunchy cookies, but the Creme Patties are heavenly.
Nutter Butters seem to be the only peanut butter sandwich cookie still sold. None of the grocery stores near me sell any other brand- not even the store brand has them.
I had a teacher in elementary school who used to "reward" us with Mary Janes and Bit O' Honey. Both tasted like ass and I think I lost a few teeth to them. Not really a great motivator.
Joe,
Stop talking about me.

I remember cherry Dots sold by themselves in a box, but I don't remember what they were called. I haven't seen them around for a while now.
I also miss two of my favorite flavors of Life Savers which were discontinued long ago: butterscotch and choc-o-mint.
Best of all were the spearmint-flavored Mike and Ikes, also now gone.
