Since alot is coming out about the next installment in Chris Nolan's Batman series, I've decided to make one thread where anyone with any kind of rumors or news can post about the movie.
The latest I've heard from Batman On Film.com is that the batmoblie blows up in this and he gets the batbike that will resemble the tumbler. The Joker's car is going to be refered at the clown car.
There is a rumor that Renee Montoya from Batman The Animated Series is in this. Eric Roberts is playing Salvatore Maroni, if you don't know who that is, read The Long Halloween or just go to wikipedia and look him up. He's the mob boss who scars Dent. Anthony Michael Hall has a role in this, but his identity is unknown for know. Some speculate that he is a wannabe Batman whereas others like myself think that he's going to be a villian either Roman Sionis(Black Mask) or Edward Nygma(The Riddler).
Also, one last thought. One of the villians in the third Batman, Batman Forever was Two-Face and now the third Nolan movie's villian is Two-Face. Odd thought, but I think Eckhart will be a better Two-Face than Jones was.
So basically, this Batman series is pretending the previous series never existed? This is all very confusing.

Well wouldn't you want people to forget how horrible Batman and Robin was or Batman Forever?
I don't think Nolan wants us to forget about Tim Burton's two films, just Schumacher's.

I really miss the campy 60's Batman. Seeing Batman and Robin getting tied up together week after week was really thrilling and quite hot....
Oh, how the world had changed....

Okay ben4 I take it from the first paragraph, you like kinky stuff????
Campy doesn't seem to work well with Batman and even though he admitted that the Adam West Batman TV show saved Batman from being cancelled, he was never really a fan of the goofy, comedic Batman. He prefers(as do I) the Dark serious mysterious Batman and basically all of the comics that are coming out now are dark and serious.
On the first Batman movies documentaries, Frank Miller makes the comment about how the more successful movies and shows of comics are usually the ones that are the truest to the original source material and quite frankly I don't see how a comic about a guy who witnesses his parents being murdered in front of his very eyes and then devotes himself to getting justice for his parents and disguises himself in the mantle of a horrific nightmare Bat could be done for laughs and giggles.
They tried to bring camp back to Batman with Batman Forever and Batman and Robin and those were the worst two of the series and Batman and Robin basically killed Batman until Chris Nolan came along and did Batman Begins.
There are rumors still going around about exactly who Anthony Michael Hall is going to play. Someone on IMDB said he was going to be a mole at Wayne Enterprises who would scar Dent and now the rumor is that he's a character from The Long Halloween who works with Dent. If you read The Long Halloween, that character would have to be Vernon Fields his assitant who gives Sal Maroni the antiacid that is thrown into Dent's face.
I heard that in his interview with the VIEW ladies the other day, while promoting season 6 of THE DEAD ZONE (Great show), he let it slip that he was playing a "good guy."

He did and the rumor from Batman on Film.com is that he's a character from The Long Halloween that has something to do or work alongside Dent which has alot of people thinking he's Vernon Fields, Dent's assistant who gives Sal Maroni the acid that he throws at Dent.

These are some new tidbits that I got from one of the Batman boards...
"*SPOILER ALERT*
It has been confirmed that a major aspect of The Dark Knight plot will involve two barges full of Gothamites evacuating the city.
Sources say the evacuation will stem from the Joker planning on destroying Gotham city. However, the evacuation won't go exactly as planned. Supposedly there will be bombs aboard each ship... and an insidious plan hatched by the Joker.
What will the bombs be for? One hint involved Gotham city officials being forced to decide which barge to explode...if they don't choose the Joker will destroy each one...
An added wrinkle: One boat houses the innocent of Gotham...and the other the convicted...seems to be an easy question...but who comes out clean?

**SPOILER**
It has been verified that the location in Chicago previously identified as the Wayne Penthouse (which was ironically located at ground level on Wacker St.) will hold a major scene wherein the Joker and Batman get to face off.
The scene will go something like this:
By this point the Joker has given Gotham city an ultimatum: Give me Batman or I'll kill all the people on the "A-list" of Gotham's who's who. Including Comissioner Gordon, Harvey Dent, Bruce Wayne...etc. Harvey Dent realizes that Batman will never come forward and thus takes the title upon himself. At some point before the party Harvey Dent declares himself Batman to help distract the Joker from his list of kills.
Consequently, Joker crashes Bruce Wayne's party at his penthouse (since the party is full of such A-listers) looking for Harvey Dent. Dent is indeed at the Party and Bruce quickly hides Harvey in a kitchen closet and runs to his bedroom. While there Bruce enters a panic room where his suit and armor are equipped upon his body and then returns to the penthouse room (in a very elaborate entrance) and a fight ensues. At one point someone is thrown out of the penthouse window."

Okay so this site Film Ick.com says that Anthony Michael Hall will be playing Edward Nygma in The Dark Knight. Although I wouldn't mind him playing it, I'm believing anything until confirmed by WB.
Besides I think that if they were going to redo The Riddler, they should cast either Alan Cumming, Stephen Colbert, or David Hyde Pierce. I'm more for Pierce than the others.

The Bat Cycle has been revealed. It's actually called The Bat Pod, but it's still a motercycle and it was featured on The Today Show. It is the oddest looking thing, but it's really cool.
Here's a link to the video of it on Today:http://video.msn.com/v/us/v.htm?g=13F4067E-E33C-4D98-96B1-51BAFDD4F35E&t=m17&f=06/64&p=Source_Today%20Show&fg=>1=10056
here's a pic of Batman on the Batpod:

I just can't get excited about this. It seems like they're just retreading the same stories, but making them "edgier". Because "edgier" (or "darker" if you prefer) always means "better"? Meh. Maybe it'll be great. Maybe I'll want to see the same story told yet again. And again. And again. In every imgainable style. For ever and ever. Eternally. Amen.
Or maybe not.

Well the movie is going to be borrowing alot from The Long Halloween including the meeting of Dent, Gordon, and Batman. They're also using alot from Batman #1 seeing that was The Joker's first apperance, they gave Ledger The Killing Joke, and there are rumors that Joker's Five Way Revenge may also be used.

There was a report from someone who was an extra in a party scene where The Joker crashes it and the report said that The Joker's hair is a mix of blonde, brown, and green. His face looks like it's cracking like dried up makeup, he wears a long purple coat with a blue sport coat and a shirt with diamonds on it. He has purple gloves and wears a long biker wallet chain.
Anthony Michael Hall is rumored to be up for The Riddler.
Close up of the batpod!

There was no teaser for The Dark Knight during AFI's 100 Years 100 Movies.
In other news someone posted a set report on Superhero Hype.com and spotted....Cillian Murphy in his Scarecrow costume. So, even though it was rumored on alot of sites that he would be back, the rumor has now been confirmed.

Does anyone else think the new bat suit is a little Tron-ish minus the lights?
How does he keep his cape from getting all tangled up in the wheel? :)
