I have two friends who are leaving for a year to give all 365 days of a year of their life to work with the poor and those affected by natural disasters. I don't see how that would be so hard. I am actualy considering taking a year after college and just volunteer for a full year working with the poor and such. I actually think it would be a great thing if everyone just took a year off to volunteer with the Peacecorps or some other noble cause. But the 4,000 years comment was funny. Almost as much fun as that great VP from Indiana of the former Bush.

Yeah, 4,000 hours, CATSNY. In Israel you have to give at least 2-3 years- and that's 2-3 years in the military. Not to mention reserve service after you're done. Bush's 4,000 hours could be given to civilian instead of military service, and they come to less then 1 year. In some ways I think it's a good idea.

It's an election year, StickToPriest. A little outrage is needed when the current administration is doing outrageous things. Besides, if we all agreed with each other it would be damn boring.

I was a little miffed but wasn't really upset. I was just giving another side for Cats to look at. Another important lesson is although you may not like a person and think they have done the country terrible harm, you shouldn't automatically condemn every view they hold.
