Hey, I am going to the Hamptons tonight and was supposed to be living with my friend and her dad yesterday by car, but something came up and her dad had to go to the Hamptons yesterday. Anyway, I am going up tonight and I am debating taking a car service, or the Jitney. My friend told me about the bus, but my parents aren't sure they want me on the bus alone. So, if anyone has been on it, can you tell me how the atmosphere is, and usually the type of people the bus gets (lound, old, young?). It may seem like a silly question, but my parents want to know. Lol. thanks

Perhaps we can all contribute a little something so that you can get better accommodations than the three of you in one car.
the hampton jitney is actually pretty nice. i wouldn't be afraid to ride it. the only dangerous person i've ever seen on there is naomi campbell and if you can stay out of range of her curveball with the cellphone, you should be ok.
Honey,
It is a very upscale crowd. The last time I took it, I was seated next to Andre Bishop from Lincoln Center. Best 4 hours of my life. The only problem with the Jitney on July 4th is traffic.
Bring a lot of books. An Ipod. Anything because it will take forever.
The people who take the Jitney have either Summer Shares or own million dollar real estate. Nicest crowd you will find on a bus.
I chatted with Andre and he was the most interesting bus ride I have ever had.
Granted, I had just lost my Father and I was a mess. He was a PRINCE.
did anyone else get whiplash from reading that?
Don't call me honey!

The Hampton Jitney used to have a great magazine.
It is on hiatus, but will hopefully return.
I did theater interviews for it a few years ago when it was launched.

Here's to the ladies who launch.
I wonder if Andre shares a similar story about that trip...
