I am PSYCHED for Martin Freeman, who I think is perfect. I would REALLY REALLY like to get some official confirmation for McKellen and Serkis.

I am so excited about Richard Armitage. He is so hot and so good!

Well. With Peter Jackson directing, and the great Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, I'm there.

But really: does this have to be two movies? Surely they could knock this out in one three hour flick.

^ That's just a dumb Yahoo photo gallery that is jumping the gun. About as reliable as a fan run message board. As of now, New Line has not released an official statement that Ian McKellen will be playing Gandalf in The Hobbit. It's fully expected, but not confirmed and he is not on the cast list....yet. lol

Elijah Wood is returning as Frodo. When I first read this I thought WTH! He doesn't appear in "The Hobbit." It takes place years before "The Lord of the Rings." However, he will only appear at the beginning of both parts as a sort of framing device for the narrative.

It's finally official! Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis will reprise their roles as Gandalf and Gollum. Entertainment Weekly has confirmed it.

Dual Hobbit Film Titles Revealed?

Ringer Spy Mr. Underbelly monitors movie titles that are registered by major film studios. Mr. Underbelly noticed that New Line has recently registered the following two film titles:

The Hobbit: There and Back Again

and

The Hobbit: An/The Unexpected Journey
