Here it is. A thread to post your admiration for Jennifer Jason Leigh, one of the most intensely brilliant actresses working today. And discuss your favourite performance of hers, stage or screen. My vote goes to Last Exit To Brooklyn, but she is also amazing in Short Cuts and in Rush.
I hate to burst your bubble - but she certainly didn't rock in Cabaret at Studio 54...as a matter of fact, she stank. But I do admire her on screen.

I liked her best when she was _____ the carrot in Fast Times as Ridgemont High.
My favorite film of hers is Dolores Claiborne. Her and Kathy Bates were fantastic.
And RedHot, she was the second best Sally I, personally, ever saw in CABARET.
Who was the first?
Ah yes, Dolores Claiborne. I love the book, and her character isn't actually in the book at all, but her performance was brilliantly, achingly real.
You THINK? If you saw her, I would seriously hope you'd KNOW.
i didn't get to see her in CABARET
but she "rocked" the following flicks:
fast times at ridgemont high
last exit to brooklyn
dorothy parker and the vicious circle
rush
the best little girl in the world
georgia
bastard out of carolina
washington square
and the cheesy: girls of the white orchid (!)
Rath, Nathasha is #1.
as I said - I like her on screen a lot - Mrs Parker was a great role for her...and Delores Claiborne is a great film. But as Sally Boles - oy - she doesn't seem to have any idea what to do with herself on stage. I think she is best sticking to film roles.
did anyone see her performance in Hedwig and the Angry Inch?
WHAT?
Redhot, in a way that's kind of what I liked about her in that part. She made Sally very vulnerable and unsure which is why I thought she was so heartbreaking in the role.
yes popcultureboy, jennifer was in Hedwig and the Angry Inch Off-Broadway...
I thought Ally Sheedy was the lone female Hedwig.
oh SH!T u know you're fvcking right....my bad! how did i confuse the two?!!!!
Heaven only knows, Marquise! They are so not in the same league.
The Anniversary Party!!
yes sonofcorine2! how could we have overlooked "The Anniversary Party"?
Well she was very forgetable in "Proof."
I do like her very much on film, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Miami Blues, etc.
