Michael Barone takes on Clown Wilson and his elaborate fiction made for an elitist political play in the inner sanctum of liberal expression. Remember Wilson saying that he “wanted Karl Rove frog marched in front of the White House.” It seems that Mr. Wilson should be doing a little marching of his own: right out to “Happy Times:” the local ward for the mentality unbalanced.

Barone fills in the details that the liberal media promulgated on the public: that Bush aides "outed his wife." Keep in mind that even the NY Times has demanded an explanation from Wilson. (This demand is notwithstanding their unwavering support of Wilson for three years.)

"This was supposedly done to discredit Wilson's July 2003 New York Times article, in which he said he had debunked George W. Bush's claim that Iraq was trying to obtain uranium in Africa. The Wilson claim helped to embed the "Bush lied, people died" theme in public discourse."
"It has long since come out that just about everything Wilson said was false. He was not, as he suggested, sent on his mission to Niger by Dick Cheney. He was recommended for the trip, contrary to his denial, by his wife, CIA employee Valerie Plame. He reported to the CIA that an Iraqi official had come to Niger on a trade mission in 1999 -- evidence that tended to confirm rather than refute the British intelligence claim that Iraq was uranium-shopping in Africa -- a claim that Britain's Lord Butler judged "well founded."

It's great reading. Some of you may be familiar with Mr. Barone and his expertise.

Bob Novak: eyewitness to history, says this about the "leak."

"An accurate depiction of what Armitage actually said deepens the irony of him being my source. He was a foremost internal skeptic of the administration's war policy, and I long had opposed military intervention in Iraq. Zealous foes of George W. Bush transformed me improbably into the president's lapdog. But they cannot fit Armitage into the left-wing fantasy of a well-crafted White House conspiracy to destroy Joe and Valerie Wilson. The news that he and not Karl Rove was the leaker was devastating news for the Left."

What a shame that most of the board has blocked you. Now there's barely anyone left for you to pick fights with.

There are a few left, who chose not to block you (me for instance as I never block anyone), but I understand those who did it all too well. Maybe, if you wish to have a future in discussing anything on the board here, you should work on your behaviour in discussions and learn a tiny little bit tolerance on point of views differing to yours. But I honestly doubt you will, so what the heck...

Now stop talking about that crazy New Mexico Republican Congresswoman Heather Wilson that way.

My questions: (and I'm not arguing, I am truly curious-- frankly I don't know who to beleive in this long & sordid tale)

If there was no campaign to discredit Wilson, why was it a story that his wife was a CIA Agent? If he found evidence to back up the administration's claim, why not just publish that instead of attacking how he got the assignment? Who did send Wilson to Niger? Did Valerie Plame have the power to give him that assignment? I can see her recommending him-- but wouldn't someone in authority have to make the final call? What was Wilson's report to whoever sent him on this mission? He said in the Times that there was NO evidence of Uranium deals- if the CIA had his report proving otherwise, where is it? That would make a far better expose than saying hiw wife picked him for the job.

What's Valerie Plame doing now? I hear she is done with the CIA. How do the Wilson-Plames support themselves? If it was generally known that she was a CIA Agent, why can't she still work there? I hear they pay really well.

I have the sad feeling, I got to the conclusion what is the difference between democrats and republicans: Some want to KNOW the truth and others feel it's totally enough to BELIEVE something were truth, so they see no need to grasp facts or deal with reality. A neo-religious aspect of pseudo-knowledge. I guess I don't have to explain, who's who...

Of course I'm stereotyping here, but it just came to my mind...

Great Questions:

Plame recommended her husband. Both Wilson and Plame have denied this and the bi-partisan committee stated unanimously that she recommended him for the trip, and pushed him through. Yes, someone else permitted it to happen (good point)!

Wilson lied about what he found out, and was proven to wrong again but the bi-partisan committee. The british still stick by their report which has been proven to be truthful.

Valerie Plame "retired."

Wilson lied to the Times, which they have now admitted, and the Times wants answers from Wilson too.

Wilson outed his own wife.

This is why Wilson and Plame have been described as idiots, and now even the liberals won't associate with them.

Well I think the big question is WHO "allowed it to happen?" I mean I understand that Wilson is a great messenger to send-- he knew the territory and had experience and contacts in Niger-- but who in the Bush Administration sent him? And what was his report to them? It seems odd to me we can't get these questions answered. It must be expensive to travel to Niger-- let's check who signed his expense reports.

How can the British report be "truthful" if it found a uranium deal that was later proven not to exist? Or were they simply "truthfully" mistaken?

Like the WMD's in Iraq-- Bush, Cheney and the rest REALLY thought they were there, but it was because information was given to them that was wrong. So when Rumsfeld said "We absolutely know they are there. We even know where they are" he wasn't lying since he thought he "knew" but didn't really. Man I'd hate to be the intelligence officer who gave him that wrong bit of information. Anyone know what happened to him? Did he just get fired or was he executed or something? I mean, to give your boss some information and tell him you are absolutely 100% certain about it so that he starts a war that kills THOUSANDS and costs BILLIONS of dollars! Damn! I hope at the very least he works at Taco Bell now. Anyone know what happened to that guy?

As Plame has repeatedly proven, many CIA employees do not support Bush. A CIA employee sent Wilson on the mission, but it is a faulty assumption to presume that Wilson was sent by a Bush supporter.

To this day, the entire British intelligence community believes that statement as it read in the Bush State of the Union address. Saddam had people in Niger searching for yellow cake. He wanted yellow cake, and his minions were there looking for it. That was Bush's statement: look at it. It was proven and acknowledged by the bi-partisan commision that Saddam was looking for yellow cake in Niger. That's all Bush ever stated.

John Kerry, Jay Rockefeller, Hilary Clinton and many other democrats voted for the war because they believed the intelligence that they were given. Kerry was among the most outspoken.

So it's a theory about a conspiracy against poor president Bush caused by evil democrats within the CIA?

Come on, not even you believe that...

Since Wilson and Plame have had several strategy sessions on the Hill with Harry Reid, Chuckie Schumer, and other leading liberal voices, there is some clear evidence of the collusion between the democrats and Wilson/Plame.

Don't forget, Wilson "outed" his wife, if you can out an agent who is no longer covert.

Maybe only the anti-Bush conspiracy theories have merit to you.

Interesting, the face to face meetings (announced luncheons etc) of Wilson/Plame with democrats is referred to as a "conspiract theory."

Very interesting.

This may delight you, but neither do I hang on to anti-Bush conspiracy theories. I don't like any in general. And as for the meetings you mention, I haven't read about them yet, so if you have variable sources who say so, I'd like to read that to learn something new...

Hello pot, this is kettle:

"The columns highlighted below won’t appear on CNN, CBS, or NBC as they attempt to manipulate the American voter for elections being held on November 7. Why even ask? Pick which side of the mouth you want to talk out of, Chanti. The side that discredits this site and Craig and everything else here. Or that side that would give ANYTHING to be liked, respected and enjoyed here.

Too late for the latter by the way.

And that's what it ALL comes down to, doesn't it, Cuddles?

YOU'RE the only one who has sworn enemies. That's one of the most hysterical things about you.

And, well, it's too late. You've totally blown your chance to be liked, enjoyed and/or respected here. It's too late. You blew it.

And given that you said this entire site is discredited, you're looking really pathetic staying here.
