is anyone else here a Newsies fan?

if so, who is your favorite Newsie?

mine would have to be Racetrack Higgins [Max Casella] first, then Mush [Aaron Lohr.]

i remember seeing it in the theatres in 1991, while my parents went to see basic instinct!!

i also put in an entry form to win free newsies stuff, so i won two free cassettes of the soundtrack. and also there was a stand and free Newsies newspapers about the film which i took as well, they make great souveniers!

My roomate made me watch it one time..I have ot say I really didn't like it very much. Maybe I'll try watching it again sometime!

Is the Newsies CD or DVD particularly rare? My friend told me the CD was, after I'd just bought it with no trouble at all.

I watched Newsies last night! I LOVE it!! Definitely one of my favorite movies.

Newsies is a delightful film and would probably transfer to the stage well. Christian Bale was way cute in that film! I also saw it when it was originally released and I often wondered why it all but completely ignored. The DVD was commercially released last year and is available. The CD was out of print for a while, but rereleased in 2001.

Right on. I bought the DVD for Christmas last year... Good music, good dancing, good story. I'd pay to see it on Broadway.

I like the movie I love Racetrack. A performing arts school I attended actually did a (I'm guessing not so legal) version of it about 2 years ago I actually played racetrack/the narrator. I still remember the opining monolog by heart.

"In 1899 the streets of New York City echoed with the voices of the newsies. Pedaling the papes of Joseph Pulitzer, William Randolph Hearst and other giants of the news paper world. On every corner you saw um carrin the banner bringing you the news for a penny a pape. Poor orphans and runaways the newsies where a raged army without a leader until one day all that changed"

Racetrack!!, Spot, Jack...I HATED David. Oh lord did I watch that movie on a loop way back when. Didn't stop me from buying the dvd the day it was released.
