Was anyone expecting any? It sounded like the show was in pretty good form minus maybe some pacing issues (and I may be misremembering that last bit).

Saw the first preview and also tonight’s performance. From what I could tell, there have been no noticeable changes at all in three weeks of previews.

The biggest difference is that there were almost no callouts tonight, compared to the nonstop chaos at the first preview. Other than a few “slut” and “asshole” shouts, which were prompted by Rachel Dratch, and “say it” which was encouraged by Luke Evans, I heard nothing else all

Saw this yesterday and thought it was one of the worst Broadway musicals I’ve seen. This was in my same ranking as Tammy Faye. The set was great, Shoshana is a star, and that’s it. All those ballads, the tepid story development, the Party City Draculas, the gay superhero number, and that lead kid with the annoying Urkel voice. Wow.

The Rocky Horror Show Expectations

I was very active in the Rocky Horror Picture Show world in the 80s. Call-outs were and are a hilarious and integral part of the movie experience, especially at a movie that the audience has likely seen multiple times. Like many others, I think the theatrical experience is very different, considering the price of tickets, the dissimilar audiences, and the fact that many of those call-outs do not make any sense at the live show. (Rachel Dratch does not have ball

ENCORES! THE WILD PARTY Review - 1 Minute Critic

Jordan Catalano said: "It is sad when productions like this come along and we don’t get that rare cast recording. And I’ll echo again what was said, that this didn’t feel like just another Encores show. I went to the final show yesterday afternoon (i didn’t even know it was the final show, I figured there was an evening performance) and was just amazed again at what they were able to pull off in that short time. Productions like this almost aren’t fair t

Callbacks - I would expect them to subside to something less than we heard tonight from an audience filled with RH fanatics.

Costumes - no resemblance to the Vogue fashion shoot. I had no issues with costumes, except for Rocky’s. Luke’s lower costume looks unnaturally endowed. Or maybe not…

Some quick thoughts from the first preview. Overall, I think it’s a really good production. Not any kind of reimagining and no bold creative choices. I’ve seen about 30 productions and would put this in the top ten. I really loved the last Broadway revival, and this doesn’t compare.

Many of the songs are performed pretty much as we’ve seen them in other productions. Science Fiction has Juliette Lewis planted front and center swaying and moving

Ditto. Tonight. Moved. Front row center.

I just saw Maya Rowe as Audrey in Little Shop this past weekend.  She will be fantastic!

OH, MARY! Reviews

I saw Mason in London tonight and thought he was fantastic. Matching Cole in his performance. I was wondering if a British crowd would get it, but it seemed to get the same raucous reaction as in NY. I didn’t notice any clarifying changes to dialogue, but there was a brief voiceover at the start noting that Lincoln was a US president who was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. Terrific production and performances all around.

Vape or Don’t Vape?

According to their website, regarding the change in the show title:

WHY THE “DON’T?”

After doing our own research, vaping, it turns out, is dangerous for your health (with the possible exception of strawberry-kiwi flavor – studies pending).

Once we learned that popcorn lung is not a concession snack, we felt compelled to change our show’s messaging – out of concern for public health, and respect for the ongoing sensitivities within the

I sat in the second row center and didn’t have any sight restrictions. I don’t know why those side seats might be marked as restricted. Almost all the action takes place center stage.

After we’ve been so beautifully transported by this production, those contemporary political references feel jarringly out of place. The Reagan line, while pretty lame, at least lives in the era of the story; the RFK Jr. and Biden bits don’t. (The Freddy Trumper character na

For the audience-participation spellers, we had Nick Offerman (and they played into this by having him spell complicated whiskey and Scotch brand names). I saw on social media that Stephanie J Block also recently was a guest speller. Are they pulling a Oh, Hello/Gutenberg! The Musical! and having a celeb participation for each show?&qu

Good to hear. I’m seeing this next week, mainly for Andrea Martin. Is there humor in the show?

Satiric Obama show 44 THE MUSICAL to open off-Broadway in October
 Nov 7 2025, 11:25:13 AM

I saw this recently in Chicago, and maybe my expectations were very low, but I thought it was entertaining. A little long and pointless, but a great cast, some catchy songs, and silly political humor. I thought the Joe Biden character was really funny and a great dancer.

I appreciate the sound of this and would welcome a new rock musical. But isn’t this song super repetitive?

Dolly! The Musical coming to Broadway 2026?
 Oct 2 2025, 03:20:14 PM

According to Dolly, she wrote over 25 new songs for the musical. I'm not sure how many remained in the show, but there is quite a bit of new material.  Also, when I saw it late in the run, it clocked in at about 2:30 plus intermission.

I took a pass on investing on this also. Having seen and loved it off-Broadway, i thought there’s no way it would be successful on Broadway. 🤦‍♂️
