I took my son to the movies today, and they showed a trailer for this movie. It is a non-ballet telling of the story of the Nutcracker. It looks pretty good!

I have a lovely copy of Hoffman's original story that is "illustrated" with Maurice Sendak's costume and set renderings for Pacific Northwest Ballet's production.

I stand corrected, but 'meh' all the same.

And I don't like the design for the Nutcracker.

I love that Nathan in playing Uncle Drosselmeyer (SIC). He's not who I see in the role at all, but I'm still a fan.
