The first season of this glorious TV show is just out on DVD. As a bonus there is a disk of favorite episodes including the peak "Password" in which Felix insists on appearing with Oscar as his partner on the game show.
Another great line [from Penny Marshall as Myrna]: "Can I be Peggy Cass?"
If only. . .

Fannie,
Is that the season where JPMorgan was one of the guests?

I am SO excited about this!
The Odd Couple has always been one of my favorite plays, and I LOVE the movie, the sequel, the female version was okay, and the revival w/Nathan and Matthew was good, but I have never seen the TV series. I always have but it has never been in syndication (sp?) well, at least not where I live it hasn't.
I am going to buy this next time I go out!
"Ya want space? Move to Utah!"
"Felix, in the world of ulcers, you're what's known as a carrier."
Great show!
The ep where Felix was having breakfast with his ex-wife looms large in our family. Felix was trying to prove to her that he wasn't nearly as fussy as he used to me so she would take him back. She had fixed scrambled eggs. While he was sitting there at the table, he kept looking at the eggs while he was talking. Finally he couldn't stand it anymore and he picked up his dish and went to the kitchen, saying "let me just tighten these up a little more".
For some reason that line cracked us all up. To this day we never have scrambled eggs without someone going to the kitchen, just to 'tighten these up a little more'.
Off Topic... did you know that Neil Simon makes no money from the TV show?
He sold off the rights to adaptions of the play for a flat amount years before the show was developed.
He is still kicking himself.
My heart bleeds.
Yeah
The landscape is littered with TV performers & writers in early tv shows of the 50's thru the 80's who got no residuals
