This news has been around for a couple of days and I'm surprised it's not on this site yet.
It's looking more and more likely that an ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT film is going to be made after the strike. God I hope it's true.
This source is sure good enough:

And if that one doesn't satisfy you, how about hearing it straight from the Tambor's mouth:

Keep this thread alive until the eventual movie comes out. God willing.

Same here--it has quickly become one of my all-time faves.

Posted: 2/7/08 at 10:38amI love this show, but why would they spend the money on a movie of a series that flopped? It just doesn't make good business sense. I would see it, but it is bound to lose money.

Posted: 2/7/08 at 10:41amBecause the DVDs are doing well and Michael Cera and Jason Bateman were both in successful movies this year.

It ran for as many seasons as STAR TREK.
Cera is getting to be quite a star...JUNO and SUPERBAD--as a matter of fact, two NYTimes film critics chose him as Best Supporting Actor--not that they aren't charlatans, but nevertheless.

I suppose that'd mean that any AD movie would have a stong George Michael/Maeby plot? I am kind of sad that they didn't get their happy ending.
Even if he did slide into 2nd base head first - like Pete Rose.

Posted: 2/7/08 at 11:26amANY AD movie would have a strong plot...it's almost a weakness--that's what i didn't like about the 3rd season--almost too clever and topical for its own good--I think it kinda lost its heart in the process.

Hostess: Welcome to Klimpy's! Anywhere you'd like!
Lucille: This does not bode well.
Lucille: I'll have the Ike and Tina Tuna.
Hostess: Plate or platter?
Lucille: I don't understand the question and I won't respond to it.

"I love this show, but why would they spend the money on a movie of a series that flopped?"
Same reason they did it with Firefly: excellent DVD sales and a large fan following.
I will be SO SO SO happy if this happens. I've been introducing my boyfriend to it for about a month now (we're in the last quarter of season 2) and he loves it. I've never met anybody who's really watched it from the beginning who HASN'T loved it. The most difficult part is trying to get into it in the middle. I initially tried to start out with the season three premiere and didn't get it at ALL.
