Thanks for the link!
I looked at BB Kings website...seating is going to be like Metropolitan Room with a $10.00 food/drink cover.
Ugh, I think that's during finals for me. I'll have to wait to see when my exams actually are to figure out if I can go or not. It'll be nice to have him performing in the city again, though.
Thanks for putting that up Chloe, I've never heard Larry sing before; I really like his voice.
I also found this picture:
I've never seen it before; I think its pretty cute! (Though Adam looks a wee bit lazy eyed, which is kind of amusing.) It's also funny that he looks like he's 4 ft. taller than the dressing room mirrors.
That's a sweet picture. Tracie and Wilson went to one of Adam's LA shows last year.

I remember reading somewhere that Wilson was talking with audience members around him and saying that Adam's pre-Rent music was even better than the music he plays now. Wilson would say that. On another note? His music (well, the two songs I've heard) cracks me up. Only Wilson could write a song about toys inside someone's head coming alive.
It's kind of weirdly validating to hear that I wasn't wrong in saying there might be a show at BB King in the spring. Anyway, it's the day after the last two of my finals, so I'm planning to go with a friend of mine who's been looking to see him live for a while. I hope everyone who wants to go can make it.
Also, since the ticket website doesn't give the option to have tickets mailed vs. will call, I called the venue asking what the deal with the tickets is. She said to just present your confirmation number at the door.

All the love thread girls should get there as close together as possible so we can have our own cheering section, lol!
I just hope someone doesn't steal my seat this time, hehehe! =) just playin!

Also? When I called and said that the tickets for the show were available through the Enter the Vault website rather than Ticketmaster, the woman said, "Oh, that's the ticket website for our metal shows." Adam would be proud. I think Larry would be saddened.
See, Adam? You're not as wannabe as you're inclined to think.
I was at that show, Brina. It was pretty cool to have Adam, Wilson, and Tracie in the same theatre, but Wilson's comments on Adam's music left much to be desired. As Lexi said, he DID try to convince us that Adam's early music was superior because of its "individuality" and "innovation." No comment other than Wilson isn't exactly a fit judge of quality music.

Were you really one of the girls he was talking to, Ariella? I read about that from someone else, I think, but that's hilarious that you were involved. What else did he say?
I feel like this would be an appropriate time to link to Wilson's music MySpace.
I feel like for once, I'm current with the conversation topic. I was just exposed to Wilson's music yesterday.
Tink, where did you see the information about a cover charge? Maybe it's right under my nose, but I didn't come across it.
Lexi - yes, I was talking to Wilson at the L.A. concert. I'd already met him at the Rent/Tick tribute concert, but I was saddled with the task of getting an autograph for a friend who fancies herself a True Believer. Not that I minded, but some of the fans were a bit intimidating. Actually, it was strange that many of them were more interested in meeting KT than Wilson himself.
Other than talking about his current projects, Wilson didn't have much to contribute. When asked about Adam's music, he was quite fervent in his conviction that the older material had an edge that just isn't there now. Maybe he was getting it mixed up with Rent or something. But then my cousin was like, "Dude, what's up with this guy?" so I had to leave before Wilson said anything else odd.
I'm not sure I'd want to hear Wilson's solo music.
That's good that the BB King's gig ended up happening. It's definitely in the middle of finals week for me, but who knows. (And, Tink...it wouldn't be an Adam concert if I didn't try to steal your seat! )

I have to honestly say that I think Tink ended up in the ever-so-slightly better spot though, no? She shouldn't complain.
I realize that this probably want a lot of people would love to complain about, but I have to admit that I don't feel the same sense of anticipation with this upcoming show. Maybe I would if he changed it up a bit more. I'm more excited to go with my friend than anything else. I'll probably be really happy about it by the time May comes, though.
How is Wilson's solo music? Awful? What type of music is it?

Epic awful. Also, nearly impossible to find on the internet.

... are we supposed to keep it as a secret or something?

No. I just think Wilson or someone looking out for him wishes we would.
I agree Lexi. I'll go (if I can...weekdays in NYC are rough for me), because the songs he does sing are beautiful, but I dunno, I'm not overly jumping for joy. What happened to the Broadway style show damnit! =)

So I was cruising on the web and I found this group of pictures from an event called 'The Learning Annex'. Out of curiosity, does anyone know what that was all about? Here's a pic from the event (and yes, the awsomely bad 90's fashion is super nifty:)
Thanks, Tink, I didn't think of looking at the FAQ.
The Learning Annex, which presents seminars and lectures, had a session with Adam and Anthony a few days before Adam's last performance in Rent. From what I can gather they answered people's questions. Here's an archived description of the whole thing.

ah, I miss the 90s....
*tear*
I finally watched the Chess Benefit video (popped on my screen out of no where and wouldn't shut off I swear Mr. Copyright man!), and wow, wow, wow. I had seen clips, and have listened to the audio many times, but wow to see the whole thing unfold!
Chloe, you need to work your screen capping talents during "One Night in Bankock"!!! Adam's faces were utterly priceless!!! =)

I am so happy you said that, because I just watched it recently too. One Night in Bankock.....there are no words!
Thanks for the link and info Chloe
Best part of Chess EVER! (except for Raul's performance of the Arbiter's song, that comes in a very close second.)
