re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 12

Oh dear. Your mom too? mine too. She has jumped on the Adam bandwagon. Kinda.... weird. No other way to put it. But amazingly, she hated everything else with the exception of the first song & Adam's. I guess it hit a little to close to home. (my dad went to Vietnam)

I think she was singing along too much during Raul's take on Hair to properly form an opinion, though.

lol! Does your mom do what mine does and make up her own words when she doesn't know the actual lyrics?

Ok Tink your post didnt appear until I hit the reply button - I swear these threads are haunted sometimes

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 12

my mom memorizes one line (usually the first) to a particular song and then repeats it or uses variations throughout all the verses, and there is no guarantee that the one line is correct in the first place.

you should hear her version of "I Got Rhythm"

misschung - yes, this thread eats the first post of each page. On other threads, it will eat the first post until someone else posts, and then it will show up. But on this one, it just eats it and doesn't give it back.

I must've fallen asleep last night with my TV on and woke up this morning and Adam was on TV. Elton John's 'Inside the Actor's Studio' was on, and they were showing a bunch of AIDA clips. I thought I was imagining it when I heard the songs before I opened my eyes. Not a bad way to wake up.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 12

I would love to awaken that way!! I have to keep my eyes out for a replay of that.

Same here. I watched part of that show another time. I'm gonna have to DVR it. It's hard to get enough time to watch an entire show lol.

At first I thought you were going to say Adam was on Inside the Actor's Studio, and I was wondering how the hell I missed that!

why exactly was Elton on that show? I guess they have expanded outside the field of actors a little.
I think my favorite is the Robin Williams interview!

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 12

While Elton has appeared in a handful of movies and TV shows, usually as himself, he's certainly not an actor, so I'm not sure how that was justified. The real reason was to get some ratings, I would think. Anyway, I'd love to see that show. I've heard he writes a song on the spot, as he did on a British special once.

The funniest appearance Elton has made must be on Will and Grace. Will thinks the Gay Mafia is just a myth, until Elton shows up as its Godfather.

I think James Lipton goes out on a whim sometimes - how else can you explain J Lo's appearance?

jk

I haven't seen that Will and Grace episode, but I think that show has the best cameo episodes in the world.

Well, I'd assume that if you can get Elton on your show, it wouldn't matter if he's an actor or musician. Like Chloe said, it's the name that matters.

I only watched the last half hour, but they spent almost twenty minutes talking about his Broadway projects. I was surprised. I also hadn't seen some of the press reel that they used. It may have been the Chicago one and his tattoo wasn't covered.

I just checked the schedule. unfortunately the Elton John episode is due to be shown again for a while. At least not through the beginning of July.

Yeah, exactly. I really like that show but I always miss the new episodes. There are so many people that I want to be interviewed that haven't been on yet.

I was just cruising around Youtube and the Aida preview video (the one with Adam's celtic tattoo showing) is on there. I'm assuming people have probably seen it before on TV, but I thought you guys might want to check it out.

It was only just put on YouTube. I haven't seen it before either, just a couple of little glimpses. What did they say about Aida on the show?

Can someone send me a link (PM is fine) for this vid? I can't find it (youtube hates me!)

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 12

I didn't see much because I was half asleep, but Elton basically said that he was approached by Disney after The Lion King to do something that hadn't been an animated feature and how it later won 4 Tony's. They showed the clip and mentioned that Heather won for Best Actress. Then he went into talking about Billy Elliot in London.

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 12

It's a press reel probably made for Broadway, since I don't think EL was a duet in Chicago. I could be remembering this wrong though.

There's an interesting little story in today's Newsday about the release of the High Fidelity cast recording. The composer Tom Kitt is interviewed, and the relevant paragraph is at the end:

Kitt - the son of onetime Yankees pitching prospect Howard Kitt - is now working on a number of projects, including an original show titled "Feeling Electric," in development with Second Stage, as well as solo projects with Sherie Rene Scott ("Dirty Rotten Scoundrels") and Adam Pascal ("Rent").

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, Part 12

Stupid but this made me giggle.

This is from "The Post and Courier" Charleston, SC. It's a column called "Listen to this" which I guess is a review of songs you should listen to.

"Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp — "Living In America": This song is from "Rent." I love this song. The two singers are the original members of the show and they just recently signed on to do a few shows through some of the summer. I can't wait to go see it. This song tends to attract more people than a lot of the other songs, since it's a rock ballad. "Rent" has been very influential in a lot of aspects of my life.

Listen to this and other tracks from the original Broadway soundtrack of "Rent" at Amazon.com. "

I just giggle because you would have thought the writer would check the name of the song ("What You Own").
