Cybele updated her blog today with Thanksgiving suggestions and a link to her Lime column. She's right. Silk Nog is good.
Lime Column
I'll have to make something from Cybele's cookbook soon... it's been a while.
Love the pics, Chloe. Too bad it doesn't appear many were taken from Chess. And don't get me started on no CD.
Ooooo cool pictures! I saw this icon roaming around Livejournal with Adam from Chess throwing his hands up in the air and doing this crazed "Hallaluah!" face; quite amusing
It's his way of indicating how untrustworthy women are, actually. He did it on the line "They let fly"
So you got what you want
What a nasty ambition!
Set me up, pull me down
Then exploit my condition
I should have guessed, woman
That if pressed, woman
You're on nobody's side but your own
And you're behaving
Like a mere woman
It's so clear, woman --
It's your sex!
Once they start getting old and getting worried
They let fly, take it out
On the one who supports them --
That's you I'm talking about
Oh, now that makes alot of sense! I've never seen that specfic clip from the show, just that icon. Now it's all clear! Question for you though, did you see the concert?
No, I wasn't there unfortunately. I didn't become a fan until 2004.
Ahh, I see, I became a fan late 2005...when a certain film came out featuring Mr.Pascal, hmm...seems like a rather slow night tonight doesn't it?
I'm glad the film got Adam so many new fans. Considering how muted his performance is in some ways, that's quite a testament to his appeal.
Incidentally, the muted performance actually garnered him some decent reviews here. In the Minneapolis/St. Paul paper, the reviewer completely tore the movie to shreds, but noted "Pascal and Martin were the only performers to master the subtle art of understatement and as a result gave the only realistic performances." Or something along those lines.
That's nice to know, Ariella. I'm still amazed at how strong and varied reactions were to the film. Take Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, the two big trade papers. The first hated it and the second loved it.
It's hard to believe that the movie will have been out for a year next week. Even though I had heard Adam on the OBCR, the movie was the first time I saw him play Roger. He was much different than I had expected, but I was impressed at the subtle things he does in the movie, even if it wasn't the most Oscar-worthy performance. I love how every time I watch the movie I pick up on new small things that make me like his portrayal of "movie" Roger even more.

I hadn't thought about the fact that a year had nearly gone by. I hear that Adam's performance on stage was very different from what he did for the film, but that's probably appropriate. He was older and had a different kind of Mimi to bounce off of.

Well, well, look who turned up with an earring and his favourite leather jacket!

I love the umbrella!
Is it a coincidence that the three AIDA leads are all in a row? And WHAT is Sherie wearing?!
Well, they were probably invited because of their affiliation with Disney. :)
Wow, that is so random yet awesome

some more interesting info....

Yeah, that was posted 2 pages ago, as well as the response from the Goyband people, saying the scene had been changed to the second week of December.
I still appreciate the link, since I'm so scattered at the moment I can't remember where I saw what about who.
Still, the information in blog post is all incorrect at this point, so I didn't want anyone that hasn't been reading the past few pages of the thread to get confused.
Very true - there seem to be enough confused people already.
Here's a link to more photos from Mary Poppins last night, among others:

Is it me, or does it look like he is wearing lipstick in that picture? His lips are just really.......pink!
