It's pre-finals for us; we have time "off" in between when classes end and when our exams actually happen, so that'll be a quiet time for me. I need to study, but I can take a break if I have almost a whole week. :)

Honestly, I have a huge paper due the week after the weekend on which they're going to film, but I'm going anyway. F*CK school, Adam is better.
Well said! I couldn't agree more.

"I see a lot of dudes in the back, and I'm thinking tonight that you're in the wrong place, because all the girls are up here. You should probably join them... see, I'm married, so I can't even do anything about it, but if I were you, I'd want to be taking advantage of the situation."
From one of Adam's old shows. (Okay, I cracked up.) Poor guy didn't realize that the guys were probably gay.
Believe me, siamese dream, I much rather be doing something with Adam than my finals!
I also love how the minute I mentioned being an extra in the film, all 8 of my roommates (who are also my best friends at school) made it very clear that they would NOT be coming with me.
Edit: Oops. I just reread that. Hope it didn't come out as dirty as it could have sounded!

Poor Adam indeed. Well, he's wisened up now, and he gives his gay guys a special welcome now. They probably hide in the back because they're intimidated by all the screaming girls.
Don't worry sweetdiaster, we're all in the gutter here. Embrace it and love it .

I'm sure most of you recieved this e-mail, but i'll post it for those of you who didn't:
Everyone -
Thank you for the overwhelming response. We are so excited that you're
interested in GOYBAND, and know that you will all help to make the
scenes great.
THE SHOOT DATE FOR THE THEATRE PERFORMANCE SCENES HAS BEEN CHANGED TO
THE SECOND WEEKEND IN DECEMBER.
(A change of location has necessitated that we move dates.)
I hope that you will still consider being a part of the film. If you
remain interested, please send me the following as soon as possible:
-- Your Name
-- Address
-- Age
-- Phone Number
I will be contacting you to with the (new) proper date, time, wardrobe
and location information. Also, please check Craig's List, as I will be
posting further casting notices for other scenes!
Again, thank you from Goyband and of course, Adam.
Do you think this person is reliable? I mean, I don't feel all that comfortable just giving my personal information to her.

I just e-mailed her back asking about the age situation. This was her response...
Hi Alex.
For the theatre scene, there is no age limit. Though the scene involves
Adam's performance, the scene is "taking place" in a resort where kids,
teens, parents and grandparents all gather together.
The only requirement is that you are willing to dress conservatively,
in the vain of a modern orthodox jewish woman (or man).
Hope that answers your question,
Courtenay
I also asked her if she knew the location of the shoot, i'll let you know if she writes back.
ETA: She wrote..
it will be either in brooklyn or manhattan, for certain.
If anyone has any other questions I would e-mail her now, since she seems to be online and responding quickly. If you need the e-mail PM me.
I don't see why you'd question their reliability. She obviously works with the movie and YOU contacted THEM in the first place.
I don't know if you should post the location and other information on the boards. They're obviously trying to get a select group of people, that's why they asked for name, age, etc. in the first place. If they wanted it to be a free-for-all, they would have just posted the location online for the world to see instead of trying to narrow it down and get some order and control.

yea, I guess you're right. My mom is the one questioning me.
I just wanted to let this thread know, since most of us are going. I'll edit the post after a few get to read it.
Yeah, moms can be like that, heh. I just meant that if you contacted them originally without questioning their authority/reliability, it seems a little odd to question it now that they've responded, you know?
And saying it's in NYC is fine, I just meant like, if you got an exact address or venue, you shouldn't post it. Because you KNOW fangirls would just show up there just to try and get Adam to sign their Rent DVD or whatever, and the movie people don't need that screwing up their shoot.

Oh, no I won't post the EXACT location. I hope a lot of rent fangirls don't surround us there..screaming in our ears.
My mom will probably understand, after making an effort to convince her.
If anyone feels inclined to send the information my way on who to email, etc. I would greatly appreciate it.
I haven't heard back from anyone yet and would still be interested in checking out this whole shebang. Kinda curious as to why I haven't heard anything (maybe emailing early Tuesday morning was too late). I wonder how big a response they got...?
I haven't gotten a reply yet. :/ I know my e-mail definitely went through. Maybe I wasn't enthusiastic enough and they're screening them for "true fans" or something. I sent like a line saying that I was interested. Heh.
That's all I said, too, Em. Maybe it was a mixup of some sort? Just email them again with the age, etc. info, I'd say.

matjomae- check you PMs
Em, you'll probably get a response back. My subjects title was exciting as "EXTRA IN GOYBAND." Heh.
matjomae, if you emailed them, you'll probably hear back eventually. If Alex is going back and forth with her, they're clearly still checking and sending responses.
The movie people probably would prefer everyone to get their info through them instead of having it passed around so that they have an idea of how many people to expect. Like I said, otherwise, they'd have just posted a location and a time instead of having people contact them directly through email.

I think matjomae just wanted the info on what the e-mail was.
I will, if I don't get one by tomorrow, Ash. :)
Illinois is really a bad place to live, I want to live in New York
I feel for ya. Minnesota is fairly crappy itself.
Who knows, Dancin? Maybe they'll decide the perfect location for a Goyband scene is in the middle of the midwest. Yeah right, but still.
I guess someone my age would be okay for this crowd, but I'm sure to be working all that weekend, so please tell me all about it, anyone who does it.
We can only hope Ariella.
*crosses fingers*
