I never saw Joey or Drew. I kind of just expected not great things from them and decided to not waste the money. I did, however, see Mel B. from the Spice Girls as Mimi. She was terrible.

Yeah, I didn't like Joey, but I think even though Drew was also in a boyband (not dissing them, loved them in middle school, lol), and I really do think he did well. I am getting a boot of my Rent cast soon though, so then I'll be able to actually know if I loved them because my Broadway Rent virginity was broken or if they really were good.

While the general consensus seems to be that Mel B was the worst Mimi ever and I'm still haunted by that awful Joey/Sebastian rendition of WYO that got posted here a while back, I'm kind of curious as to how Drew was as Mark. I liked his voice in 98 Degrees, and I think he had somewhat of a performing arts background prior to that.

I was thinking about that the other day, Shiksa. After I saw Rent for the first time, I thought everyone was amazing. Looking back, through hearing audios or seeing other casts, I've realized that they were really not as amazing as I had thought.

Lol, well, there's Rocky virgins, why not Rent vigins? I saw Rent for the first time in Cleveland and it Sucked royaly- The Roger sounded like he should be Raoul in Phantom, the Mark seemed mean and moody, and the Mimi looked white. None of them sang or acted very well.

Fantab- I remember asking my friend if the cast recording we bought was of the cast we had just SEEN because I thought they sounded so alike, lol. Now, I know that I'd definintly think differently now, but I still think they were good- I may not have know Rent but I still knew talent.
