If this makes any sense, it's not so much that I'm tired as in I need sleep [although I am and I think I'm getting sick] but I feel like I'm emotionally exhausted and thus perpetually tired if that makes any sense at all.
Elphie, I'm glad you liked it. I had the same reaction when I saw it, I started tearing up during Come to Your Senses and by Why, I was completely gone. It's just, you wish you could hug him and be like "Don't worry, you get your chance!" but then you want to cry even more because he won't get the chance to see just how well he did. The line "What does it take to wake up a generation?" made me burst into tears when I was listening to it on my way to Symphony Space, because I was just like "You DID wake up a generation!"
The changes kind of bug me. Changes in shows always bug me, especially the "edited for content" stuff. Did they take out the pot references as well? And the tight clothes definitely doesn't sound Jonathan-ish; in all the pictures of him in the Rent book, he's practically swimming in his clothes.
The actress's name is Karissa I think. I do think it's weird that they added in all the other characters. I don't see how the dancers would really work in this. The part that I liked about it when I saw it was that it was just the 3 actors playing all these different characters. Adding in other people seems really ridiculous, like a casting director wanting everyone to get a turn or something Montessori-ish like that.
Oh well. I'm glad that you got to see it live. It's really a special show. I can't wait until I get a chance to see it again.
Pot references? I don't remember any of those... They did mention condoms, though. It seemed very scattered, which bugged me.
Karissa! That's it! My mind was totally blanking.
The dancers were mostly background people, like in the diner, and they were extras in the meeting scene. But there were about 8 girls in green dresses for "GGD", which I thought was unnecessary.
The tight clothes...well, I wasn't complaining because the guy playing Jon was VERY good looking , but it was NOT in character at all. He looked like one of those guys in "Grease."
Katt, you should go to sleep. You'll feel better.
Speaking of tight clothes, I meant to mention this last night. Will Chase. Plaid pants. Ahem.
See, I TOLD you the plaid was ridiculous on him.
I like the plaid pants :). Although I've never seen Will in them.
Yea, being front row dead center had quite the advantage. I also found his facial expresions during LVB when the cast does all the funny hand/head moves to "La Vie Boheme" incredibly amusing. He was so into it.
*loves Will times a billion*
Will wears the plaid quite nicely. Heh, I loved how into it he was with all of the obscene gestures during LVB.

Okay, I'm catching up with the thread because as tired as I am, I can't go to sleep yet.
Hey Em, do you want to PM me your Rent Secret? =D
I'm glad you enjoyed it Elphie! It sounds like they did a good job overall.

And me.
What are they saying, Em?
And I really like Will in those pants. They kind of clashed with his boots, though. Which were also kickass, while we're on the subject.
Please PM it to me as well.
So 3 different PMs don't have to be sent out, no one has an audio/video file. It exists somewhere out there, and you would have to buy it.
Now ssshhh.
And the thing we're not supposed to be talking about is even from a performance I actually saw live!
Just the usual silliness. And poor defense.
Thing is, a few of them DO like me. Like, worship me and make me feel sort of uncomfortable sometimes.
LOL, how do they worship you? *has never witnessed that*
Which thread are you talking about? *is too lazy to read back/look. I feel bad.* I have lots of catching up to do.
