BG, to answer your question: yes, it is. I think it's slightly embarassing, so I'll probably put the old one back soon.

I don't want to kill the thread and I don't normally like discussing my personal problems online, but I've been having so many problems with my parents lately. Yesterday, we had a huge argument about church. Today, my dad told me that there was a potential tumor spotted on my mother's mammogram (TMI, sorry). After discussing it with him for a while (he's a doctor), I asked him if this is something I should watch out for due to heredity, genetics, whatever. He completely flipped out on me, saying that I shouldn't be so concerned about myself. I had already asked various questions about my mom and I'm sure he knows that I care about her! So, I'm really worried about my mom, and on top of it all, everyone in my family is arguing. I just want to cry.

That's ok, Lexi. Definitely no ruining of the thread. We all use it to vent when we have to. You're definitely not wrong in what you asked your dad, which I'm sure you already know. I hope your mom is ok. *hugs*

I don't think that was very fair of your dad to jump on you, but he was probably just worried and stressed over the possibility of your mom having a tumor.

Aww... Lexi, I'm sorry. That just sounds like a rough ordeal in general. Your dad might just be really worried about your Mom, and not realizing he was taking his frustration or whatever out on you.

What you asked your dad came from a perfectly understandable concern. I'm sure your dad is probably really on edge about what's going on with your mom too, which is probably why he flipped out.

I obviously don't think that I'm going to get some sort of tumor before I'm even 18, but this is a running theme on my mom's side of the family. It was just a question. You all are probably right in that he's just concerned and took it out on me. ::sighs::

I'm so sorry, Lexi. My mom had a mammogram scare a few months ago, and I know we were both so worried about it. It fortunately ended up being something benign, but it's so stressful to wait to find out. I really hope that whatever they spotted ends up not being serious. It sounds really unfair that your dad flipped out on you, since that's totally a legitimate concern and doesn't seem selfish at all to me, but as others have said he's probably as as stressed out about it as you are and ended up taking it out on you. *hugs*
