I like The Real World, too. Laguna Beach just cracks me up.
I've never seen Laguna Beach either. I love Real World.
"How can people watch TV and surf the internet at the same time? I've tried to do that so many times and ultimately end up turning down the TV in favor of just poking around on the internet. Heh. "
It does tend to distract me from the TV, but I can still pay enough attention to what's going on in the show without sacrificing valuable Internet time. And there are some shows where it's more fun if you're discussing it on a message board or AIM while it's taking place.
Aaagh, my mom wants me to go with her tomorrow to some talk show taping she got tickets to, but I'd have to be there by 8:15! I don't want to disappoint her, but I don't want to wake up that early 2 days in a row (tomorrow is one of the days I don't have classes until 2, but the day after I have an 8 AM). And I still have to do my laundry before 24 tonight. Aaagh!
The only show right now that I really follow is Lost. I loved Gilmore Girls, but with the exception of the episode where Jess came back to town, it hasn't been that compelling this season (even if Luke and Lorelai are the most adorable thing ever).
As far as bad MTV shows that are so good... NEXT is my favorite way to kill time when I don't feel like actually thinking about anything.
I do both because generally, I just leave the TV on as background noise. I like to think I'm excellent at multitasking.

The only show I really watch on TV is L&O: SVU and I don't even make a point to watch that.
Once the baseball season starts, though... it's all baseball, baseball, and more baseball. Whenever I'm in NY for a month or so in the summer, I'm glued to the YES Network. It's so sad.
I have the TV on right now, but I have no idea what's on. It's main purpose is background noise.
I love the YES network. *hugs*
Baseball season needs to start like now.
BOO Yankees!!!
HAHA! Hi, all.
I love the YES network. Sadly, my parents ditched the cable at the beach house for Dish Network and it isn't offered. It's hard being a Yankee fan in Baltimore Luckily they usually get a good amount of ESPN dates and with the new scheduling the last couple years and playing people in the same division a lot, the Orioles play the Yankees a bunch.
Is it spring training yet???
Our baseball team is not that good. I don't like sports much, but be prepared for hockey during the Olympics. I have a feeling my competitive side might come out.
My roommate made fun of me because I would have the TV on mute and be listening to music on the computer because I was too lazy to turn the TV off and cover it. (It's beside me and I hate seeing my reflection in it.)
I was addicted to watching baseball when I was a bit younger (although I get the feeling my team preferences don't quite match with the rest of the thread ), but I just don't have the patience anymore to watch a game on TV for 3+ hours. I still love to read about baseball or go to games, though.
Dammit, my mom just totally guilted me into going with her tomorrow and otherwise managed to push my buttons. If she only knew that there's nothing wrong with AIM or my computer, I just haven't signed in since I came back to the city because I don't want her bothering me...
First Spring Training game is March 2nd!
What show did you get tix for? Anyone good the guests tomorrow?
It might as well be springtime!
OMG last night at John Lithgow's last performance he mentioned in his speech how much he loves the crew even though they're not exactly Boston Red Sox fans and as a present recently got him a Yankee uniform with the name "DAMON" sketched on it. I screamed very loudly
And I agree...Next is so bad it's funny, same w/ Date My Mom. But the only new show I really follow is Lost as well. I watch TV/on comp. a lot, but like...I can't watch a new Lost episode while being on the computer, usually it's a friends/full house/boy meets world one of those reruns where I know most of the episode by heart and may look up at the screen every once in a while.
"I just leave the TV on as background noise."
I do that all the time.
I love SVU, but I don't make a point to watch it, unless I see a commercial for a good episode or something.
I watch Will and Grace almost every week, and Family Guy too.
And I don't know about other places, but in LA they have Sex and the City, Friends, Will and Grace and then Just Shoot Me on everynight at 11. I always watch or Tivo those.
I started watching L&O SVU after the episode with Anthony, i love it. And ive also been watching Gilmore Girls forever. But Friensd is def. the best.
And MTV shows are funny. Funny because you sit there and think "Didnt MTV use to show music?"
I think we're going to the Tony Danza Show - my mom had sent in asking for tickets a while ago and got a call this morning saying there were cancellations for tomorrow's show. Not sure who the guests are.
"And MTV shows are funny. Funny because you sit there and think "Didnt MTV use to show music?" "
Heh, I think the only time they actually play music videos anymore is at like 3 AM.
When I was in college our cable system for some bizarre reason got the LA channel of WB, so the 8pm WB shows like Dawson's Creek started at 11pm and then it was random old sitcoms pretty much all night when the rest of the channels turned to middle of the night infomercials. I miss that channel!
This is great.

I get the Buffalo channels for all the American cable stations, except TBS, which for some reason I get Atlanta.
Ah, the days of the old WB. I was obsessed w/ Buffy but then they had the early days of Charmed, Dawson's Creek, Felicity, Popular...that was right before reality TV took over. TV has not been the same since in terms of quantity quality programs.
Ya the whole Sex and the Cty, Friends, etc. thing is on the WB.
*gapes and pokes around* How can I have missed this???
Oh, right, my power was out yesterday.
What a bad day to have your power go out
