I'm seeing it here, in North Carolina.
Night, Chloe.
My parents still pay my credit card bills since most of the purchases are things they put on my card, but I'll often pay cash for things even though I could use the card because I don't feel like having my mom ask me what something is when it shows up on the bill. On the flip side, I'll almost always use the credit card when the purchase is food-related because my mom thinks I don't eat enough and I want her to see that she's wrong.
All right my computer time is up for the night. My mom says I have to spend less time on the computer because my grades are bad and I need to study more. I'll talk to you guys later. Don't let anything fun happen, I'm still catching up from the past few nights that I missed. Sweet dreams to all.
Hey guys! I love the pictures! And the Beatles too...excellent addition!
Ooh Elphie, that's so exciting! You must give us a report, but I'm sure I don't have to tell you that.
I'm eating crackers with hummus. Yum.
Hummus. Hummus is my love. But I don't like to eat chickpeas. How weird is that?

Hummus is somewhat of an acquired taste, but I've recently grown to like it. I love pita bread - when I was younger, my mom used to make me my own personal pita bread pizzas.

Okay, while we are on the topic of food...random question.
What is the strangest thing anyone has ever eaten? Not strange tasting, but things most people would not want to eat before trying it I guess.
I've eaten some strange things, but I would have to say either emu or kangaroo.

Mmm, I love both.
Elphie, I just read your posts. Sorry to hear that things aren't going well. It always sucks when parents try to control our lives despite our ages.
Hey, BG, do you know anything about summer sessions at NYU?
Number 1 strangest thing would have to be the live cricket. Ah the weird things we do in our youth at summer camp...
Number 2 is Vegemite

I think I ate a little squid or octopus... My friend and I both ordered seafood chowder at this Greek restaurant. I had already finished mine, and he was like, "Ew, look!" and picked a... thing out of his bowl. We both looked at my empty bowl, and he burst into laughter.
Katt, I'm going to say sweet and sour squirrel. *blinks* My uncle is kind of a hick, what can I say?
I don't eat weird things, I'm too chickensh*t. I don't even know what hummus is.

I actually love squid/calamari. When it's fried. I ate it raw once and it really grossed me out looking at it.
And vegemite is DISGUSTING. In Australia this summer, my friend put vegemite on a q-tip and stuck it up my other friend's nose. He keep yelling "It's like a have a yeast infection in my nose!"
I have weird friends.
And I guess I've eaten a lot of strange stuff. Squid, Snail, Alligator, Crocodile, Emu, Frog Legs, Kangaroo, and Turtle Soup are probably the strangest...but all are pretty good.

siamese, it's funny you should ask that. I just filled out my application for summer housing a couple of hours ago (I'm not taking any classes this summer, but I'll definitely have a job or internship of some sort in the city and I couldn't deal with the thought of living at home for that). I think the length of the summer sessions is based on what school the courses are in, and I'm not sure if incoming freshmen can take summer classes.
I guess I'm relatively boring. I don't eat anything particularly weird. I'm a really picky eater.

Vegemite IS gross!
Fried Calamari really is good. Escargo (snails) was disgusting...it's quite a good thing I didn't know what it was before hand as well. I had rattlesnake once *shows her Texas roots* It tasted exactly like chicken.
I'm also a fairly picky eater, but I can usually find something I like on the menu when I go out to eat. I'm not big on seafood, though - I'll eat shrimp and whatever is in california rolls, etc., but most of the other stuff is just too fishy for me.

Thanks for the info, BG. I was poking around the website and it looks like incoming freshman can indeed take summer classes. Unfortunately, NYU's website is less than user friendly and I usually just get annoyed after browsing it for a few minutes. Maybe I'll just call NYU tomorrow.
Love the avatar, BTW.

I like snails, lol. The two things I absolutely refuse to eat are Spinach and Asparagus. Asaparagus can't even touch anything on my plate because it will leave its disgusting taste on the rest of my food.
We eat a lot of crawfish here. And things like Crawfish Etouffee and Crawfish Bisque. Jambalaya and Oysters are big here too. And Gumbo. Whoever doesn't eat any of that is missing out ;D.
We also have King Cake during and before Mardi Gras. It's a big King Cake time right now. I don't really think anyone besides Louisiana/Mississippi/Alabama eats it or celebrates Mardi Gras though.
I just like simple foods. I can usually find something, but most of the time I could be happy with a bowl of pasta and a salad.

You just mentioned my loves...Etoufee, Jumbalaya, Gumbo and King Cake.
Heaven People, it really is.
Can we tell my family's from Louisiana much?
