I think Adam actually looks older in the first picture but maybe thats just me.

Heh, Adam must realize that he looks good no matter what he's wearing and therefore doesn't see the need to wear clothes that look good, or match. It's all good, though, because the wackier Adam's clothes are, the less guilty we feel about wishing he weren't wearing any

Not just you. It's really funny how in current pics where he's clean-shaven or close to it, he looks younger than in pics from like 10 years ago when he's sporting more facial hair. He looks good in a lot of those pics from back then, but I definitely think he looks better now - he's grown into his facial features, if that makes any sense.
