Hey, if the lights are off and the teacher is droning on in monotone, they basically telling you to go to sleep.

I don't bring my laptop with me to class because I know that if I did, any hopes of me ever paying attention to the lecture would go right down the toilet. Even without distractions like books, magazines, and iPods, I find it tough to pay attention in some of my classes. As for cell phones, I'll never forget the time some girl's cell phone went off in AP Spanish (my high school was very strict about cell phones and if you were caught with one on school premises, it would be confiscated and your parents would have to come to the school to pick it up) and she actually answered it and started talking to the person on the other end.

Last year someones cell wrang during a test, and he answered and started talking. The teaching barely cared, it was amusing.

No one at my school really brings their laptops to lectures, except for a few geeks in the far corners. So if you're already standing out like a sore thumb, you'd better be paying attention.

I had a teacher in high school that used to make long distance phone calls to his daughter on your cell if you were caught with it.

Haha, I'll be honest and say that I've done that a few times. Granted, I only did that in classes where the teacher was pretty lax about everything. I actually find the incessant clicking of someone texting behind you more annoying than the occasional cellphone ring in class.
SweetestSiren, what are your favorites so far? My favorite is probably "Book of Endings."

I have to handwrite stuff to learn it, so I rarely bring my computer to class.
Fantabulous, I totally dozed off in at least two Art History classes.

My laptop doesn't have the battery life to survive a class. But, if I were to ever bring it to class, I wouldn't feel like I could even surf the internet because of people looking over my shoulder. That irks me just a bit.

I would love to bring my computer with me to class. But it's a PC, and I can barely carry the tower.

I used to only bring it if I knew there was no net service in class.

Fantab, that would irk me, too. I can't even stand it when people look through my iPod or look to see what I'm listening to!

Speaking of text messaging, I don't get how people do that. It takes me forever and a half to type out one sentence because you have to press a button multiple times to get the letter you want.

Heh. Wouldn't it be funny is someone sat in the front row of a lecture and started watching porn, just for the sake of distracting everyone else?

I *just* discovered text messaging a bit ago, and I got used to typing them really quickly.

Me and my friend barely got on the greyhound so we were really separated, so we spent the ride texting each other.

Em - C12 got one B, B+ and the rest A's. I will report C10's grades when we receive them.

I'm also in the text messaging-retarded group. It takes me five minutes to type out a sentence! I always go past the letters like four times. I don't know what my problem is.

I love the feature on T-mobile that fixes the letters for you, based on what keys you're using. It's ridiculous how fast I am at it.

My phone has an option where it sort of guess what you're going to type next and groups your letters, but it just confuses me.

Mine does that too. I think you can change it though.

Mine does that!! I think my mom had been playing with it before I got it, because when I started to type my name, the right letters started coming up. I was thoroughly creeped out.

Yeah, you can. I just magically changed it one day, but I have no idea how.
