Yay for Amber getting a new cookbook, because that means we'll get to see lots of pretty pictures of the things she cooks
Speaking of food, I just got back from a walking tour of the Lower East Side that included all sorts of snacks along the way representing the various cultures in the area. Maduros, pickles, kosher cookies, Chinese jelly candies, sweet-and-sour tofu, fresh mozzarella and parmesan cheese, soppressatta, dim sum, all yummy

Aww, thanks. I feel special.
Yummy, Rachel Ray's stuff is good. My sister cooks some of her things, they're yummy.
Zyla, I LOVE this avatar. It will be so hard for me to change it. Unless I find a better one. But what's better than Adam in sparkly pants?
I just found out that I CAN tape Cold Case tonight! *cheers merrily*

Thanks, Allie! That should be helpful.

So, after tinkering with my vcr/dvd combo and tv...the unfortunate realization has come to me that I can't record from tv...

No, our tv is just quite old. You have to do all this menu change stuff to turn off the cable, and turn on the vcr/dvd. In theory, it wouldn't be hard with the vcr/dvd...alas, the tv just is too old.

Oy, poor Amber. I bought a DVD/VCR combo last summer, only to find that when it played VHS tapes, there was no sound. I ended up having to buy a separate VCR to be able to watch any TV shows I might have to tape.

I love my combo player. I just have no idea how to set the timer. But my roommate's taping it, so if I miss it tonight, I can watch it tomorrow.

You know it'll end up online. :)

I'm scared... I have to figure out how to tape on one channel and watch another at the same time. The Junos are on tonight, too. At the same time as Cold Case. *bites nails*

My VCR/DVD player is great
I have two stacks of tapes that I recorded things on in two piles that are seriously like 3 feet high. I keep meaning to go through them, but I haven't had time. I record too many things.

Oh, sorry. I was going to tell you how to solve it if that was the problem. Sorry! I hope you can find a way to watch it.

My mom managed to make prom dress shopping less than fun. Actually, this whole prom thing isn't very much fun at all. I really wish I had a different date (I know, I'm horrible).
Can someone upload the Under Pressure video? I know I sound like one of those whiny LJ people, but everyone knows what happened to my computer.
Aw, this photo is cute:

Are those sour Altoids I see? Nasty! Well, at least he believes in having good breath.

The Junos awards are like the Grammys, but for Canadian music.

Gotcha, Allie. What is Under Pressure? I ask lots of questions, lol.

Under Pressure is a Queen/David Bowie song that Michael Cerveris and Adam sang together. There's video footage of it, and it's hilarious because they're very likely drunk.
I believe he's singing it in your avatar photo (or at least it's from the same concert).

I don't have the video, just the link where it was posted online. I can't help...sowwie!

That is AWESOME. Is that the same song that Vanilla Ice stole? Hahah, Adam drunk. As I look at my photo, I am wondering what in the WORLD he is doing with his hand...

How was dress shopping?

Heh, see a couple of posts above. Not bad, but my mom always makes shopping a horrible experience (she manages to contradict every single thing I say), and honestly I'm still bummed out over my date. I feel so guilty thinking that, but I built up senior prom so much in my own mind and want some sort of dream date.
I think I know the one I want (it's $450 and I think my parents are going to have a heart attack), but I'm going to one more store tomorrow just to make sure I don't see anything I like more.

I'm going to be going out soon. One zip folder is uploading, but won't be finished before I leave. It'll take me some time for the rest, because there was a lot of rent press.
