Oy, poor Allie. I hate that blah-but-can't-sleep feeling.
I think I've only skipped class 2 or 3 times so far since I started college, all in the spring semester last year. I had a 9:30 class where we had a 2-3 page writing assignment due almost every time the class met, and there were a couple of times in the second half of the semester where I stayed up late the night before but still couldn't finish the assignment. In those instances, I would just "forget" to set my alarm clock, wake up late enough that I couldn't go to the class, finish the assignment, and drop it in my professor's mailbox with a note saying that I was sick. I only did it when I was really desperate, because anyone who missed that class 4 times would automatically fail.
"There was this one time an alarm went off - it was in the middle of '24.' That's just wrong. Everyone knows everyone was watching '24' at that time."
