re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

Thanks, Chloe.

I agree with you on the double-edged sword idea. (Seems like these discussions always come back to the idea of dualities!)

Your post also reminded me that subjectivity is yet another thing to take into consideration. I suppose that one person's "frat boy" may be another's "ordinary guy" or what have you. I believe that it's important to take in as many different viewpoints as possible...but, of course, there is a limit to what's possible!

It's probably getting too late to have insightful discussions; I know I'm barely making sense.

Don't worry, you're making plenty of sense. Probably "ordinary guy" is more accurate in some ways. I think I like "frat boy" because it's a little tangier, but it's also more subject to misunderstanding and negative connotations.

Considering some of the frat boys I've known, I can definitely see where the term carries a negative connotation. I think that Adam has that sort of sense of humor, though.... appreciating college-age boy things. So if he's a "frat boy," it's not in the bad sense.

Morning everybody!

An Adam acting comment posted on the Main Board:

Ever seen Adam Pascal in the RENT movie? He can't act his way out of a paper bag.

Is his acting really that bad? Have I just been blinded by his voice, ravishing good looks, and charm?

It's not great, but it's also not as bad as some people claim it to be. Lately it's sort of become like, the it thing to do to bash Adam's acting, a la bashing Idina, so people just jump on the bandwagon and bash him because it's cool.

I agree with Em, and also think a lot of people were expecting a Roger similar to what he did on stage. Actually, the fact that he could perform the part so differently in itself shows some ability. Some of the change is due to how different Rosario was from Daphne. Her Mimi is both more cheerful (at the start) and less tough, so Adam had to adjust accordingly. I think he also went for a character more realistically depressed. All this probably made for a less compelling performance than the stage version, but it was an honest and well thought out one.

Assuming he bedazzled the jeans himself, it's lovely that he spent extra time adorning the crotch area with little sparkles between the buttons as well.

And Mmmmmichael! I see side skin.

Those pants are so. tight. And they are totally women's pants.

Fun stuff!

She, we think Adam got the tattoo in '97. He's been notoriously close-mouthed about it, as in "that's a Celtic love knot. Are you Irish?" "No."

re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part ten

Well, he's bared pretty much everything at one point or another, so unless it's actually on one certain area, I doubt he's hiding others!

Maybe he just thought it looked pretty and doesn't want to admit it. Just in the name of good taste, though, I hope he wasn't one of those guys who gets a tattoo because they think it looks cool with no real personal significance.
