What's all this about Jed? I obviously missed something.
ETA: Never mind, someone explained.

Posted: 7/20/06 at 10:34pmGreat. They put so few details on their site, not even the venues. Hopefully it'll all end up on his myspace, but it's good to get a jump on buying tickets.

Posted: 7/20/06 at 10:55pmThis is bizarre. An anonymous comment on Cybele's blog demanded that she explain how she could casually link North Korean nuclear weapons with Kenneth Lay's death. WTF? All she was doing was remarking on how many important news stories there had been lately.

Posted: 7/20/06 at 10:57pmI was just reading those. It's strange even though I talk about my issues with cramps all the time, I felt invasive when she was talking about hers.

Posted: 7/20/06 at 11:00pmStrange. I think it's easy to say that a lot of the negative sentiments she's received are a result of those jealous of her marriage, but realistically, I think it has more to do with organic food and food allergies as topics people feel quite strongly about either way. Organic food definitely has its extreme supporters and detractors, and seeing as how food allergies are often a life-or-death matter, strong feelings about what children eat and from what company seem to stem from that.

I know what you mean, Sarah. What's really strange is how discussing cramps can feel too personal, while a headache would probably be fine. It's the link to sexuality and the fact that we still live in quite Puritanical countries.
ETA: I think you're right about the strong feelings stirred up by those subjects, Lexi.

Posted: 7/20/06 at 11:04pmYeah, I think it's also because I don't *know* her. She's the wife of a guy I tend to lust after.

Right, but would reading a post from a BWW poster you don't know about her cramps creep you out? I think it's the latter reason you mentioned that caused you to feel the way you did, along with what Chloe said.
I'm obviously a bit strange because I didn't feel uncomfortable reading what she said, but I can understand why someone would.

Posted: 7/20/06 at 11:09pmI would probably feel a little uncomfortable discussing it with anyone, because I'm basically a prude.

Aw. Chloe! Even if I didn't want to talk about it, I'd have a hard time not mentioning it to my friends and family because I suffer from extreme migraines during my PMS. I haven't suffered from one recently, but I'd often actually have to miss one day of school per month because of it. Migraines have to rank as one of the worst feelings in the world.
Granted, this is all coming from the same person who doesn't have a problem discussing, say, Just Here to the Left of You, so...

WTF indeed?
Well, it's been awhile. Seems like a lot has happened in the world in the past couple of weeks, between the Guantanamo Bay ruling, North Korea setting of Weapons of Mass Destruction, and now Ken Lay's death. But as always, food is still the center of my existance, so I thought it was time for a little update.
She's not linking them AT ALL. She's just... making a statement: they happened.
... I don't see the part about the cramps?
I need to check out that ice cream. I totally forgot.

Posted: 7/20/06 at 11:14pmIt definitely was those reasons Lexi. I overshare all the time, and have no problems discussing with anyone the joys of being a girl. I don't know, I think because it's the whole "Adam's wife" thing, I just felt like I had accidentally stumbled upon something I shouldn't have.

That makes total sense, Sarah.
Emcee, I could be reading too much into that post, but I have to wonder if it's from some obsessed conservative googling the internet for mentions of Kenneth Lay and gunning for anyone who they think is disrespecting him. It's so strange.
ETA: Her discussion of cramps was in response to someone asking for a natural remedy suggestion for them in the comments.

Oh, I see it.
Well, I'm willing to try anything, so I might try what she says. She's tooootally right about the calcium, though.

I want to be rich enough to travel to Broadway shows in a limo.

I don't think one owns a limo but rather rents them.
Still, though!

Yeah, that's what I meant.
But... yeah. Still.
Adam.... rawr. If you go all Hollywood on me...

Posted: 7/21/06 at 12:15amThe producers or something probably arranged it specially to entice him to come. "We'll treat you like a VIP and let you host a concert if you just sit through the show!"

Posted: 7/21/06 at 7:47amA limo isn't that big a deal. When I have to travel for work, they get a car service to take me to and from the airport, and sometimes it's a limo if that's what happens to be available. I always wonder what the neighbors think, seeing a limo pull up to my house to pick me up.
