I survived my first day at work...hoorah!

And now, I'm going to pass out from exhaustion.

Hostess at a rather loud, busy seafood restaurant...I dig it, good people and fun environment, but tiring nonetheless (and tonight was the slow night!)

Hi - just dropping by a moment to say I won't be around for a few days as I have to go out of town. I hope everyone has a good rest of the week.

Amber, congratulations on getting through your first day. I'm sure it'll get a little easier once you get used to it.

My day was absolute hell. Murphy's Law was in full effect and it was very frustrating. I'm crossing my fingers that I get everything done that needs to be before I have to leave tomorrow morning.

I hope you're feeling better, Lexi, and I'd love to have an Adam question to think about for a few minutes to take my mind off of everything else.

I'm really sorry to hear that, Chloe. I've been having quite a few of those kind of days lately. Thanks for your well wishes. :) Elphie, thanks for asking. It turns out that I was in so much pain last night because the doctor told me the wrong medication to take. I'm feeling a bit better than yesterday though. I made it through most of the day with just Advil and little pain, so I think I'm at least taking a step in the right direction. I'm really quite tired of dealing with this in general, though (and I'm sure everyone is sick of hearing about it!).

Anyway, I thought of the question, although it's kind of on the possibly obscene side (although, I didn't write the song, heh). I really hadn't paid much attention to Ordinary Boy on MP, but it came up on my iTunes today. What does everyone think that song is about? I'm guessing phonesex or cybersex (or maybe both?), but I have a tendency to go for the most raunchy explanation possible. Any thoughts?

Even with the proper meds, though, I'm still in pain. I just want to be done with all of this; I feel it's so unfair that I followed all of the instructions and still have dry socket. At least the trend is good.

Why would he be begging "just don't leave me alone" if it's about a cyberstalker, though? And how is that related to spending "all night just listening to your voice"? I do see how some lines might suggest a situation with a cyberstalker, but I think "in my hand and in my mind, I see your face" kind of easily lends itself to, well, one of the two options I listed above. Hah, I hope this seriously isn't too inappropriate...

Oh, so you're viewing the song mostly from the perspective of the other person, not him? That's interesting. Trust me, I'd like to believe that the song isn't likely about cybersex (I thought you actually had to be able to type somewhat fast in order to have a successful session?), but I'm still leaning toward that and/or phonesex.

I do have to admit that I cringe on the "my laptop crashes" line. It's not quite as bad as if he really did write "she makes me horny" in Mesmerized, but Adam, remember your lyrical potential before writing such lines.

I haven't given much thought to Undiscovered. I once tried to figure out if he was talking about a romantic partner or a friend, but couldn't even get that far and gave up. I'd like to hear your thoughts sometime, though.

Anyway, my eyes are closing, and that's probably a sign that I should head to bed. Enjoy your trip, Chloe, and I hope that the upcoming days are better for you.

I too understood Oridnary Boy to be about a crazy, somewhat scary fan, and if I'm not mistaken, I was thinking he talked about that somewhere in an old interview (but I might have just made that up, I dunno)...

ETA: RENT podcast is up. They're interviews w/ Jeffrey Seller & Kevin McCollum, & there's one w/ Allan Gordon, who are the producers. I haven't listened to them yet, so I can't give a review or give my opinion. Just wanted you to tell you all that was it updated.
