ADAM MOVED TO LA, CALI
wait, part ..ten?
Good Morning Everbody
I saw amasis posting about, but didn't want to threadjack. Was just thinking of you today and wondered how you were doing. Miss seeing you and QM around here!
Oh, wow. I haven't even checked this thread since several parts ago, and on the day I *do* check the last page, bdwaygirl says hi. How cool is that.
Since it's been a bit quiet this morning, I come w/ pictures!
As I don't know where else to post this and I know some of you are fans...
Cary Shields sent out the weirdest Myspace bulletin... It apoligized for not sending his CD to eight people (saying they would now get a box set and his mom would take care of it... or something) It was quite odd... but the mention of pot might have something to do with it... he is in Amsterdam.
Well, I'll send it to anyone who wants to see it, but doesn't have myspace. It made me LOL.
And hi amasis!
I'm going to be gone for this weekend. I have a 24 hour run starting tonight, I have to leave it early so I can go perform in my 2 dance shows tomorrow afternoon, and then on Sunday I have to work and I'm going to a graduation party. *sigh* It's going to be a busy weekend, so have fun everyone!

Apparently, there's someone on LiveJournal and IMDb looking to collect money to donate to Adam's favorite charity for his birthday. I probably won't end up donating anything because I'm afraid of internet scams (it looks like the process is going to involve sending donations to the organizer through snail mail), although I'll change my mind if this organizer offers more in the way of proof. Anyway, I thought it was interesting that Adam requested that all donations be sent to Our Time Theatre Company (ourtimetheatre.org), an artistic home for kids who stutter.
Does anyone know if Adam has a stuttering problem? Now that I think about it, I suppose he does it on occasion in interviews, but I didn't really think twice about it before this. Either way, it sounds like a great organization, and I'll try to give some money if and when I'm convinced that this definitely isn't a scam.

I will also give money if I can find proof that it's not a scam. It's very interesting about the stuttering too.
I'd rather just give my money straight to the charity...if I had any money, that is.

That's how I feel as well, and asked the organizer on his IMDb thread as to why we're not doing that instead.
I'm pretty broke as well, but I think I can manage a few dollars if I know this is for real.

Lexi I love your avatar Audrey Hepburn is my favorite
<--click on my avatar. Eyelashes =D
I never noticed that Adam had a stuttering problem. I hope it's not a scam, I would love to donate. (..if I had money)
#20 in the Rentsecrets this week is pretty
#20 made me quite happy. And a lot of the ones this week seem cleverer than usual, so that's fun.
I'm late as usual on things, but Cary cashed my cheque and hasn't sent me my cds.

The charity idea is really sweet, but I'd also be afraid to send money to someone I don't know at all over the internet in a situation like that. Hm.
I've heard of that theatre company; Adam took part in a benefit concert for which the proceeds went to them a couple of years ago, I think. If nothing else, it's a great organization that deals with kids *and* music, both of which he loves.
I noticed that thing about collecting money. I didn't really feel comfortable with it because his birthday is in October and I felt a little odd about it being collected now.
Maybe if someone more established among Adam fans than this IMDB poster than emerged out of nowhere (like, I dunno, Connie), I'd be more trusting. But the fact that this plan was established on a message board (with *zero* accountability for the poster), it just sounds like an internet scam waiting to happen. Everyone can send a check directly to the charity and puts in the memo spot that the donation is in Adam's name- it doesn't have to be one big check. The fact that he's insists it should be all together- and all the money goes through him- is suspicious. If there were a better way to track this (eBay has really strict rules about their charity auctions, for example) I'd be more trusting but otherwise, you have nothing to prove that your money went where you were expecting it to.
I'm cautious because a few years back, there was a previous incarnation of CB that had a major problem when the head of the board requested donations from posters for site maintainence. He ended up shutting down the boards out of nowhere and keeping the money. I personally didn't lose money, but others did. The betrayal was a bigger blow than the $20 lost.

Hi Amber!!
Nothing much has happened here, due to Adam's lack of events. =/
Glad you are doing well.

That's what I suggested to the poster on IMDb, but he said that it would make more of an impression if it's sent as one lump sum. I see his point, but that argument seems a bit fishy to me.
Hi everyone! Lexi, lovely as that Audrey Hepburn picture is, I'm having a little trouble adjusting to your new av.
I haven't checked on that whole donations thread lately. I thought he was suggesting that the checks be made out to the charity, and he would send over a bunch of checks, not pool them into one check. If the latter is the case, I would definitely stay away from it.

I wish Adam had an updated and eventful, official website to keep us up to date on everything. =/

He is. However, the fact that it's still going through a third party makes me a bit nervous.
That would be great, Alex, though I'm beginning to wonder if all the mystery isn't part of his appeal.
