I need to see it on DVD just so I because I want to hear the kids' commentary about seeing Adam in "Adidas."
"That's Adam! He's really cool. We went to see him in Aii.... Adi... Ai.... Ai..."
"Aida?"
"YEAH!"
yeah ... I'm not sure how it was that I never saw it. Usually I don't spend a lot of money on seeing stuff in theaters (rent excluded, but of course) and my friends are all into the big market HP and LOTR kind of stuff. Very hard to make people go see movies with me for just one hot guy. Although we did sit through Elizabethtown just for Orlando Bloom.
I think I may have converted my best friend though - I convinced her that a long haired depressed 80's dude was SO much more fun than an elf!

When I was a soccer counselor we had a girl named Aida. She was never paying attention and was so slow. I always called out: Aida, Aida a la the show.
I dunno.
One of my friends in high school was named Maria and we used to randomly sing her various musical theater songs.
My friend Marian was doomed by our singing to (of course) be a librarian. Of course that's what I grew up to be ... and my name doesn't rhyme with that at all
LOVE THAT SHOW.
Both my parents are librarians and neither are named Marian.
The Music Man was my favorite show when I was younger. I wore out the movie soundtrack, but my parents had 2 copies
hehe .. yeah ... I always liked it. Maybe I'll change my name just for kicks. I'll just tell the kids that I shall now be going by Marian. It just works better. They'll understand.
Oh! On topic, I brought my laptop to class today, and everyone who happened to catch a look at my desktop was like "who IS that?" My response was basically "did you see the Rent movie?" and if they said they did, I was like "oh, he played Roger." One girl was like "whoaaaa. THAT'S Roger?! *stare*" It was cute. I think she was shocked that his hair was so short.

Haha. I was obsessed with that show when I was younger too. I hardly listen to it anymore. It's really sad. I have all these old musicals on cassette. I really only listen to cds now though. I should listen to them again. Great memories. They were the first shows ever I saw.
ETA: Hah. I have a picture of Adam on this computer and whenever anyone sees it, they ask who it is and then stare for awhile. I love it!
I've been meaning to buy the original CD of it forever; I have the revival.
At least they didn't ask if it was your boyfriend this time
But yay for spreading Adam love!

Mine is still the Pillowman - I am amazed I kept it for so long.
Well, I don't think anyone thinks I'd be dating someone who has really hot professional headshots.
I wanted to go on about him, but they had seen the movie, and I didn't really have time to ask if they'd heard his music. I'm glad I didn't get around to putting the picture of he and I as my background, though, because then people would've asked weird questions.
