Hmm...well we do all talk about how a lot of our real life friends are clueless and/or careless. We could make a necklace out of string and claim it was from Rent and they'd probably not care, so why spend $ on it? :)

What bugs me is that the money doesn't even GO anywhere. I mean, obviously it goes someplace, but nowhere that's a good cause or anything. There are so many Rent-related causes that would make those kinds of purchases more justifiable, and more useful.

Exactly, Em. And it's not like they were only selling a few things and needed the money. They're selling tables and notebooks. They're pretty much selling everything that was ever touched by the Rent movie.

I think it's kinda sad that so much stuff was sold on eBay. One day, some museum will want to do an exhibit on movie musicals, or the RENT phenomenon, and so many of the movie props and costumes won't be available to them.
