I should hope they would be a more selective about who they allow to "stroke" them.. hehehehe
Oh the mental image with that one huh Em.. Suddenly a line of fans standing behind a velvet rope popped into my head.. hahahahahaha
It's a taped stage production. But... not the original. *shuts mouth*
So, it's hard to grasp every detail - given that, and given the fact that it's my first exposure to the show, but it's brilliant.
flip flops I love flip flops.. Cant wear them at work though..

**drools**
It just ended. Wow. Now I guess I know what people go on about, though I definitely need a second viewing to get all of the plotline details. The score is stunning, though - I'm glad I have the CD, even though I think I've only played it once. Now I have more inclination to, for sure. I hate that it's so hard for me to get into scores without visuals to go along with them. But just in general, I'm a very visual person. Anyway, yeah. Glad I finally did that.
On a separate note, hearing the song "Sunday," and seeing it performed. God. Because I (sin, I know) knew TTB before I knew the Sondheim, it's very, very powerful - but in the wrong sort of way. It was, though, because I just went "my God. Those lines are word-for-word in Jonathan's song." And also in the sense that the parody in TTB is just genius. It was also a little jarring to see the actor carry-over. ahem. Made it more powerful. It's these sorts of things, though, that make me wish he weren't doing Chitty for so long, so that he could be in something where he can truly just own the stage and run with it, and where he can truly be as present as his abilities allow, without being overrun by huge sets and expensive, extravagant insanity. I love that show for what it is, but after seeing this, I'm reminded of just how much more he can do, and how much more he's worthy of.
/short rant. Thanks to amasis, for encouraging me so many times to sit down and watch this. I'll get the original soon, I promise.
I just listened to Adam and Raul on my "Hair" recording. AWESOME!
I laughed all the way through the "Sunday" parody when I heard it the first time. Sondheim and Larson should have written a musical together...
I need to see that..
What's awkward is that I never understood the parody part of it until now. I knew the relationship it had to Sondheim's song, but not why it was funny. In the sense that I have such emotional ties to TTB, seeing this made me sort of sad.
edited to add - I'm off. Family stuff, dinner, Access Hollywood (woo!) and then some Merrily We Roll Along - all in hopes of not being sad. Adieu!
Later, ladies.
