I've seen Aida twice. The first time was last year in mid-August. I knew it was closing and had just heard some of the demos Elton made for the show. I liked the music more than I thought I would and didn't want to miss out on it. I was also interested to learn that this guy Adam Pascal, whom I'd met once and seen in School of Rock, was back in it. I vaguely remembered his name from when the show opened, and when Elton was on Rosie O'Donnell once, he'd said something complimentary about him.
I really loved the show, and everyone around me seemed to be loving it too. It was so spectacularly beautiful and enjoyable on so many levels. It really got me interested in Adam too. I read in his bio about how he'd been in RENT and started looking into that, found this board on the internet, and on the spur of the moment went to see the last show.

Sorry to sound defiant, but I'm probably just going to leave the post as it is. Quite a few of us alluded to bootlegs, so I don't think one post is going to make a huge difference.
Chloe -- sounds like a cool story! I'll be the lame one and admit that I really didn't get into Adam until the Rent movie. I liked his voice on the OBCR, but I didn't really bother to put names to faces for *any* of the performers on the recording.

Elphie, I don't sniff it, I wouldn't know. I understand if you need a drug vice, though- raping fruit flies is hard on one's pysche.
How was meeting him way back when? I can't seem to remember what you told me about it, other than that he was a nice guy.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Siamese, there's nothing lame about becoming a fan from the movie. It's kind of encouraging.
Nia, I met Adam in a work-related situation, and I was struck by how different he is from most actors. I love 'em, but they tend to be very insecure and needy, though in mostly lovable ways. He didn't come across that way - he seemed much more self-sufficient. Friendly and nice, but not looking for approval or "performing" for the rest of the people in the room.

Gaah, rubber cement. I used to volunteer at a library, and when we used that stuff to glue the card pockets into the books, the fumes made me so dizzy.
I recently bought the Aida OBCR and fell in love with it. I could kick myself for not going to see the show when it was on Broadway. I vaguely remember my mom wanting to see it, but I was in a "nothing my mother is interested in could possibly be good" phase at the time. Argh.
*cry*
The face recognition site said I looked like this guy!
My self-esteem is shattered! Can someone please reassure me that I do not look like a 100 year-old man?!

I'm glad that Jake's nice. How old is he, like 23? He's so bizzarely cute, even though his eyes are huge. He seems like he'd be really outgoing.
I thought Heath was way older than Jake, but it turns out he's only 26.
*calms down* Okay, good. *gets indignant* I used my best picture, too!
Nia, you will be pleased to know that we are no longer raping fruit flies. My teacher accidentally burned them alive instead.

He seems kind of introverted. He's one of the most gorgeous men I have ever seen, though.
Okay, so for starters I got: Natalie Wood, Jason Biggs, Liv Tyler, and Isabella Rosselini, plus a lot of people I've never heard of.
I want to try another picture!

No, we couldn't! She cleared them away before we got there so we wouldn't get uspet. We'd gotten kind of atached to them, and apparantly they looked pretty gross. She kills everything, apparantly. Even flowers!
I'm going to do another picture, too!
