Fear not, this boy has done the purple fuzzy, he's done the glitter, feathers, sequins, drag, whatever.

Hi?
I feel like I'm crashing a party every time I post; I've got no clue what's happening.
amasis thought I insulted Raul and his "enormousness." Clearly that was unintended?
And you're baaaaack!
I just got back from RENT and was amazed at how moving I found the cast. Now I'm listening to the OBCR wow I always forget just how much I love this show. Adam wow. All of them, almost everything about it, wow.
Emcee, I miss Plaidman, although coat Raul looks more like me, so that's cool. I think I even have a coat like that!
The plaid is still underneath! I was getting a lot of complaints about how big the old one was. Seriously.
Come on don't they know most of your posts are at least that long anyway.
He was unusually large, but nothing compared to *some* avatars that have appeared here.
But I looooooove him!
And I stood on his stage today!!!!

Did you see Green Day this week Nia? I saw them this day last week, and they were amazing. How was it for you?
And Emcee, Raul's head looks abnormally large in that photo - is that just me or can anyone else see it?
It's the crazy hair, which has since been cut, thank God.
You can always count on Nia...
I was saying earlier that I'm glad you suggested I get the OBC of Hair. The new CD is great and really showcases the music (and of course Adam and Raul), but the original had a certain spirit I'm glad I've gotten to hear.

Well, she doesn't tell a lie. *gasp!*
*mind boggles* Okay...
I wish some of the fanfic writers were around to see this, but I want to post it while the paper is in front of me. Today's Newsday (local paper) had an arts cover story about fanfiction. Apparently it's huge, especially built around TV shows. What caught my eye was this:
"Yet it isn't modern at all. While the Internet delivers fanfic with new efficiency...this kind of shared storytelling is actually an ancient form, which was once the norm.
'For most of human history, that's how narrative evolved,' says Henry Jenkins, director of comparative media studies at MIT... 'There was never a single author, whether it's Homer or Shakespeare. Writers always borrowed heavily from the stories of their times,' which were shaped and altered while being retold. 'There's a human need to tell stories to each other, and fanfic now fulfills that need.'

Makes sense.
I wish I could write that stuff.
Some of the things I've read by people here have been great. The other thing the article mentioned was the prevalence of slash, mostly written by women. But they didn't have a theory about that!
My theory is called guilty pleasure-ism.
