Plus, if we had to call, their phones would be ringing off the hook due to the large ammount of Broadway fans who have most likely pre-ordered the cd.

Insomniak, you cannot compare the sets of Aida to Rent. The Aida sets are MASSIVE. What I was trying to say is that the Broadway Aida sets were so wonderful that there is NO WAY they can have the same sets or same effects etc for a show that is in town for two days. They haven't got the time to build sets, they have to be scaled down BIG TIME. That doesn't mean they are going to be 'crap' (your words, not mine) but they are not going to be anywhere close to the sets on Broadway.

I'm back!! Had a really fun week away at the beach, but it looks like I missed a lot on this board!!!

In terms of set - for the national tour that they did with Patrick Cassidy and Simone they re-designed the set, did they not? Here's an interesting article about the set design of the previous tour, if anyone is interested... I love getting the design stories, so...

That's what I meant. They will have to scale down the sets to make them fit into different theatres etc. They can't be as 'advanced' as the Broadway sets.

haha! Well i had NO clue what it was for. All it said was "your order was cancelled" it wasnt until 5 minutes of staring at it did i look at who it was sent to. I saw "shkboom..." and was like .. o0o...OH! NO! .. haha

I know what you mean about wanting to preserve the Broadway version of Aida, and I'm all for that if thats what you want to do. Sure the sets will be scaled down and its a new cast but its still Aida, and I'm sure it will be great. I really cant see myself sitting around doing nothing while the tour stops so close to where I live! If you dont plan on going, I'll make sure to post an extremely detailed review for you though

NoDay & Undiscovered, go ahead... If I'm not mistaken, all Customs Officials have a right to inspect all items coming into the country. As long as you promise to release my special delivery immediately after inspection.
