I remember walking into Studio 54 and my evil brother saying "Oh, did you see the board? Adam's not going to be in the show tonight"....I nearly died of a heart attack....That was horrible....
But the show was beautiful. The only version of any of those songs that will actually stay in my mind are the way Adam sings them. I loved the show SO much, because it really did make you think.
I remember it was, like, January (now- a month after I've seen the show), and I had all thse questions that Emcee answered for me. I was REALLY clueless about the show, and she had ALL the answers.
It took three times for me to get what I got. I'm sure there's a lot that I still don't understand. I wasn't an Adam virgin at the time, but my brother still tried to play the same trick on me. I wanted to shoot him. I had a scare my second time seeing Adam, though (1/4/04 matinee). Adam had hurt his knee the night before, and there was a chance he wasn't going to do the matinee so that he'd be in good shape for the last show. I wasn't happy.
But yeah... it was pretty shocking. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

omg my brother did that when my dad surprised me with tickets to aida. i was like attacking him in the middle of the palace theatre.
hey, can I join in the Adam love-fest?! I was so upset when Adam returned to AIDA only a few weeks after I left NYC...I would give anything to see him perform live! ::sigh:: But i've made myself feel better by spreading the Adam love!! Last year, the first week I moved into my dorm one of my roommates came in to my room and was looking at all my RENT posters and pictures and she pointed at Adam and was like "wow, he's HOT!" I said, you haven't heard him SING yet! So I promtly played her One Song Glory and just sat back and watched her jaw drop. A new Adam fan was born =)
I am determined to see him live one day, but, having Daphne Rubin-Vega call me on the phone a while back DID make me feel less bitter and depressed over it =)
Ok well sorry for the ramblings, I just wanted to add to the Adam love!!
Its ok, when I went the 2nd time, we walked by the stage door before hand just to see where it was for after the show. Some people were standing there, and my mom turns to them and said "Is Adam Pascal playing tonight"
I wanted to die, it soundedlike she thought we were going to a soccer match.

thanks for the welcome guys =) Adam fans are the best! s osweet, unlike the SCARY Sebastian Arcelus fans...anyway!
I'm going to shamelessly brag about my Daphne experience (this is an Adam thread, but, Daphne-love is still welcome, right? =)
Anyway, this is kind of an odd story, but a while ago, an ex-friend of mine was going to NYC to see a bunch of shows, including Free To Be You and Me (this was 2002 i think?) My friend (who turned into a total skank and now hates me; I have no clue why. But thats another story) knew how upset I was about not going with her and we're both HUGE Daph fans, so when she saw Daph at the stage door, my friend worked up the nerve to get her to actually leave me a message on the phone!! (since this was after midnight, I was alseep and didn't get to talk to her in person, but, oh well) so know I have this ADORABLE tape of Daphne saying, "Hi, Christina, this is Daphne" (like I didn't know that sexy voice! lol!) "and i'm just here hanging out with the girls, and we're wondering where you are...but wherever you are, I just wanted to send a shout-out!" HOW awesome is that? ::sigh:: Ok i'm done bragging for now =) But if Adam would leave me a message like that i'd die a happy woman!!
