The Model Prisoner one. And of course. One of my teachers was actually a really big RENT fan. He was jealous cuz I've met Adam twice and he's only met him once. ::grins::

Ha! One of my teachers last year had a Rent OBC poster hanging on her wall, right across from my seat... I spent fifty-five minutes a day, five days a week for about half the year just staring at it. So did your Rent fan teacher know who Adam was?

'And then you converted them to Adamism, right? Which shirt is this, by the way?

I can just see the people of this thread standing on street corners handing out Civilian flyers like churches do, telling everyone to come into the light...'

Ooh yes, good idea. Someone make flyers! Hehehe

And sorry your day wasn't the greatest, NotThatGirl That is not a new subject header Tomorrow *has* to be better, so you've got something to look forward to That is not a new subject header My day wasn't all that great, but I won't waste anyone's time going into detail.

And nice to meet you Allie! Mind telling us a little about yourself?

I've always loved musical theatre! Being in rural Nova Scotia doesn't really let me see that much, though! I did get into it at school, and got to play Irene Molloy in Hello, Dolly last year. So much fun!

Rent has become my new addiction, though. I can't get enough. And I've been hinting to my mother that I want both of Adam's CD's for Christmas. IF she can find them!!

Glory, tell us what's wrong. You're not wasting anyone's time!

insomniak, of COURSE my RENT fan teacher knew who Adam was. He didn't know about the movie casting though. I got to tell him about that.

Allie--hint that she might be able to find them on Amazon.com. That's probably your best bet. I'm in Orlando, and I still had to order Model Prisoner.

'Glory, tell us what's wrong. You're not wasting anyone's time!'

Well, if you insist...
Okay, so this morning I totally forgot that I had to get up early for track and so I woke up when my mom was yelling that it was time to go, through some clothes on, grabbed my stuff and got in the car, but I was still 10 minutes late. Everyone else in track had already left running somewhere except for 4 other people who also got there late. So from 7:30 - 9:30 I had to run around the track instead of weight trainging like I was supposed to, and the coach is mad at me. Then throughout the course of the day I find out that:
a) my friend's request for a GLSA at my school was turned down even though a week ago the main office had told him that if he got __ signatures then he could start one, and he had met the requirements
b) I now have a 5 page history paper, a latin project, a math project, a chemistry lab report and 3 major tests between now and thanksgiving break (ie end of next week).
c) One of the girls who is playing a narrator in JatTD has a cold, and the performances start in 2 days
d)My dad will be out of town through the run of the musical. This normally wouldn't be a big deal, but he really thinks broadway and stuff is stupid and I was hoping that maybe by coming to a performance that he might see that it's something I really enjoy and that he shouldn't be ashamed of it, but no. Another business trip

So there you have it. My blah day. Could have been worse, but still was rather depressing :-/

I'm so sorry, Glory. We all have those days where you just know as soon as you've gotten up that you shouldn'tve opened your eyes at all, but yours was especially bad.

NTG, I hope your sixteen was sweet, (despite the injury) and if not, you have five hundered twenty-five thousand six hundered minutes to try to make up for it. That is not a new subject header

Allie:
Willkommen.
Bienvenue.
Welcome to the family!

Can we take a moment to discuss how absolutely f*cking freezing it is in New York? Thank you. It wsa definitely almost 70 degrees a few days ago.

Okay, Adam.
So - TGIF and I got there at like a quarter of five - we totally WERE the line for a while. Some people from Sh-k-Boom told us just to hang out and wait for something that looked remotely offical. They're VERY cool people. Adam showed up around 5:30 and did some sound checking. I swear to God he was singing Maybe This Time from Cabaret, but he was very mumbly and I think he made up some words. He took off for a while, but first thanks us all for showing up and said he was going to get coffee. I'd say the crowd was somewhere between 50 and 70 people, or thereabouts. It was nice and intimate. He was so cute, he said he's always petrified that people aren't going to show up to this sort of thing. He sang Beautiful Song, Book of Endings and I'm With You - he played acoustic guitar and had one guy singing backup and also playing acoustic with him. He introduced the songs and wondered out loud whether or not people would have any idea, since the record was just released... and I just thought "okay buddy. Just who do you think you're talking to?" Performances were wonderous, of course. I love the little things he changes (octave jumps and such) when he peforms live. Clothing - all black again, though slightly mismatched and those silly red shoes. Tres sexy, though. Afterwards he was like "okay, so, go buy the album. Buy one. Buy two... buy THREE! Christmas is coming up." I got several good laughs from my friends, being that I did in fact buy a third copy tonight... not for myself, don't worry. I wanted to be like "yes, Adam. As you wish." Signing was awesome - we got toward the end of the line, so by the time we got to him things were very quiet. He was sitting at a table that was up on the stage, so he was basically at eye level. The table was a pain the arse for picture taking, but it was nice - you could sort of lean on it and have a really casual conversation with him... you know, if you aren't horribly shy. I didn't totally geek out like I usually do, but when I got really close I started to get my usually "oh my gosh I can't do this butterflies," but they faded fast as soon as I got right up to him. The one thing that I saw in him tonight that I've never seen before is how nervous even he gets - he's very confident, but you can see a sweet sort of nervousness and appreciation underneath, much as we poke fun at his Diva-ness. TGIF and I went to him together, she first. We both told him how much we loved the CD - I hesitated and then said "I've had my copy at home for a couple of weeks. It's incredible." He was really sweet, and thanked us. He signed hers personalized to a friend, and then I gave him mine. Adam: "who's this one for?" Me: "Oh, it's for my brother. Don't worry about it." Adam: "oh, he doesn't have a name?" Me: "Nah, it's okay. He doesn't need one." We congratulated him on the RENT film, though saying we knew nothing was quite official yet. He thanked us, and said that it's as good as done. He seems excited. I loved that it was quiet and not chaotic by the time I got up there - it was really intimate and sweet.

Etheb's encounter was particularly adorable, but she said I could post it. She told him how she saw AIDA four years ago, and that it was her first B'way musical, and that she loved it. He said he hoped she liked it, and she answered she didn't really remember much, since she was 14 at the time. Adam: "Were you drunk?" I love his drunk jokes. No, wait. I love him.

Okay - I have to upload these pictures... you all have my screen name, so IM me and I'll pass them on.

Dr. Marten's are my FAVORITE shoes. I actually prefer the 8 eyelit ones but the 14 ones are very hot too. I bought them when I was in London six years ago and they are still good as new. They are really expensive, but I think they are the best shoes in the world. They last forever.
