haha, no worries.
Wait are you implying that Anthony and Freddi aren't smart? And that Adam is moreso than them? Sorry, but I will have to disagree... They are all rather intelligent people, and I would say that Anthony and Freddi are more brave than anyone lurking here. And yes, anyone would think we're insane. Its not just limited to Adam
I would guess Adam has close to a 3 octave range (maybe not even that much). And no that isn't pathetic or bad. He's definately not a bass, and has a killer falssetto (when he actually gets the notes right). And he sings the notes in his range very well.. has nice intonation etc. Guys voices are waaaay different so you can't base your guess off of what Cheno's range is.
I implied something about intelligence? I didn't mean to if I did... I'm just saying that Adam probably isn't the one most likely to have extra time to go surfing Broadway message boards; he has two little kids.
I think they're being very brave by coming on here and identifying themselves.
I think what insomniak meant was that Adam would know that if he wanted to post, he'd best NOT identify himself because of the barrage of messages and innuendo he'd recieve; more a matter of common sense than intelligence.

Glory, just by reading Anthony's posts I can tell he's very smart, and I would imagine Freddi is as well. A better term to use would be 'common sense'. If Adam were to see this site and this thread, he would know that it would be in his best interest not to post because people would swarm him and go all fangirly.
Is a 2.5-3 octave range good? And what about his falsetto, does he go off a lot on it?
I heart the falsetto.
I think that's all I have to say on that topic.
Well I just noticed that in the Kean recording he just sort of randomly screached things while the official civilian recording it appeared more controlled with a set pitch...
Not meaning that he has a bad falsetto, he just sort of doesnt try that hard outside of bway.
And lets not forget the whole 'will forget' line in Aida, and that wasn't even in his falsetto range to begin with...
'Is a 2.5-3 octave range good?'
Yes, especially for a tenor-ish voice like he has. Basses tend to have wider ranges than tenors but have a harder time perfecting their falsetto. and when I sai 2.5-3ish range thats not including falsetto, as I am not his voice coach so I don't know where his normal voice stops and where the falsetto begins...
And I'm not an expert or anything... I just might have more of an educated guess than you because I'm a guy...

I kinda like the screamyness. Most of the time anyway, on that it kinda annoyed me. It was a bit too much.
So you don't count your falsetto as a part of your range? And do you think the really high note in Pity the Child is something he could normally handle?
Exactly. That's why I don't discuss much of this beyond things I've heard, Glory. Because I'm not a guy and I'm not a singer.
"Will forget" wasn't his falsetto, I'm pretty sure.... somewhere it came up that it may have just been the jump of notes that made it inconsistent, because he CAN belt that high, it just doesn't always work.
re: Kean and the flexibility from the recording; Adam never sounds exactly the same live as he does on a CD or as he did like... the day before. I'm not sure if that's a subconscious flaw in his technique (which I'm not qualified to comment on) or if it's just inherent in the way he sings... you know, that "rock star" quality. He likes to mix stuff up. And you know, he has no training. That's got to be a factor.

Well, normally you would count falsetto a part of the range, but falsetto ranges vary so much that its difficult to even guess that si I just left it out...
And I have no clue about the note youre talking about nia. I guess he could, just depends on the notes before/after it and what vowel sound its sung on I guess...

Have you heard Pity the Child? It's THE HIGH ONE.

Yea I know I know its just that at some point in his time with Aida he could do it perfectly, or he wouldn't have changed it. Leads me to worry that hes screwing up/over-working his voice. But don't listen to me. I'm only 15.

I know, there's nothing wrong with changing up the songs a bit, I just brought that up to give reason why I left his falsetto range out of what I guegssed to be his range... I can't tell what his falsetto capabilities are if he's never consistant with them...
I would think 3 including falsetto. It's not actually all *that* high. I mean, for a guy, yes, but it sounds a lot higher than the actual notes are. Just like notes that would sound like nothing for a guy to sing would sound really low if a woman sang them. I dunno what a typical tenor range is though. And yeah, Cheno has 4 octaves...I need two more notes to match her ::is competitive::
ahhh, that's insane, NTG.
Pity the Child goes up to a C#.
Yea probably 3ish including falsetto, only theres a bit of a gap between the normal range and the falsetto... so it would look extremely impressive just saying __ note to __note because somewhere in there theres a few notes missing
'And yeah, Cheno has 4 octaves...I need two more notes to match her ::is competitive:: '
WOW. And how old are you again? Remember to thank all the little people from BWW in your playbill bio haha
I just turned 16

Hey everyone! I think I found that picture you were talking about a few pages ago:
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Well, yay for being articulate.
I wanna be that piano...
Okay, leaving now to actually get some work done.
Haha ::watches as the rest of the thread morphs into fangirls::
And what the hell was Adam doing in your avatar? He looks like a lumberjack or something!
Wasn't that from the gig when he sang...er... screamed "Bat Out of Hell" (SO HOT, by the way!). I call that "lumberjack Adam."
And yay for um... assets.
Yeah, the hat is muchly amusing.
AHHH! GET ME OUT OF HERE!
Can't help there - I have SO much work to do and a deadly pile of laundry to conquer.... yet I find myself staring at that photo... and listening to Adam sing something that I'm not admitting to owning.
*drools*
Oh, and I like the hat!

I like the "lumberjack Adam" picture! I dunno, it's in honour of the cold weather. Winter Adam (note the hat)!
Did you ever see the video from when he went up to Boston last year to sing at their Christmas tree lighting? He's all bundled up and looks SO COLD!
