Hahaha, I've seen only the short clips of Rent from the official site, but I noticed the LVB mess-up. It made me laugh.
I have a question: How much dancing is in Cabaret? How did he manage to pull that off?
Ok, pardon two totally random threadjacks.
First, we've started another discussion on the RENT SCREENPLAY thread on the main board. Please come join.
Second, for anyone who's been reading my holiday fic, do you want to see it from Mark, Roger, and Mimi's perspectives, or just Mark's and Roger's? I can't decide...
Allie- I remember he "bounced" during Wilkommen, with the sexy hand movements. It was really cute. That's all the dancing I remember he did, but I think there was more. The Money Song was really cute, too.
NTG- I think all three. It would be really interesting to see how the story develops in the eyes of more than 2 people.
Diva, the Fortune dance is so hard to explain because it's not a dance. It's more like "hey, look at me, I'm gonna bounce around and grind my hips with the music. See? I can be a hot captain!"
He seems to do better with stuff that's solidly choreographed. I was VERY impressed with how well he did in Cabaret, and a lot of that is pretty serious dancing, especially the kick line.
It's not a dance??? Of course, it is... Didn't you notice the advanced choreography? His FFTB dance could have been performed by a boy band! *huffs*
And don't me laugh about the kick line in Cabaret... I was pi**ing myself, his kicks were only about knee height!
Actually, I feel like dancing *gets up and does a bit of hand-cuff dance with bent Fiyero knees and a tambourine wile listening to FFTB*

Diva- My signature is from Incubus' Blood On The Ground. It's my favorite song and I were to have a mantra, those three lines (and the rest of the song, really) would be it. I'm not too much into mainstream music, but Incubus are pretty talented lyricists. I highly reccomend their Morning View album.
The FFTB dance just made me laugh, because I all could do while watching it was imagine QM's interpretation. I would've loved to have seen that.

heyy guys... NTG invited me... i don't venture over to the OT boards very often, and this thread has always overwhelmed me, haha. so, what are we talking about? *stares blankly @ monitor*
I think Adam's (lack of) dancing skills.
Oh God... QM. I'm laughing so hard right now... and it's not Saturday yet! I won't be able to breathe by the time 9 p.m. on Saturday rolls around!
*hacks up lung*
Beka, we're talking about Adam... and his "dancing."

Which is an awfully kind term for it. I Got Life makes me laugh.
Insomniak, while you were watching it? *suspicious look* You must have seen an older cast... you have no idea how professional and advanced the FFTB dance got in the last few weeks of the run... I was expecting disco lights and a giant crystal disco ball to pop up!
QM
ROTFLMAO. It DID get better - I'll give him that.
"I Got Life" is a beautiful thing. Bring on the tambourine!

Okay, serious threadjacking time...
I just realized I met Raul Esparza for the first time a year ago today... And in three days, it will be a year since I saw Cabaret for the last time...
Okay, done now.

Well, it just so happens that I found a lovely time machine on clearance the other day and I picked it up and went back in time to see the Aida OBC. *nods* Because any other way would be illegal, you know.
How did the... dance? can it be called that?- change as the run went on?
(Wow, that last sentance was very badly structered. Sorry)
He was much more enthusiastic during his second run. The first time he'd kind of just stroll around and sing. The second time we got some hip action. *nods*
Chrys, tomorrow will be exactly one year from the second time I saw Cabaret, but from the first time I saw my beloved Emcee Adam. It marks the day on which I lost my mind.
Ooh okay, nia- I'll check out that Incubus song. From the lyrics, I think I'll like it.
Speaking of "I Got Life" and Adam dancing (and Raúl, too), is the Hair video still around? I can't find it on Broadway.com when I search.
Insomniak, he was my campy disco captain! Imagine Village People singing YMCA (or are you guys to young for that).... I just had a vision of Adam being the cop or the builder doing YMCA.
His FFTB involves a lot of fists and walking backwards and raised hands! Wouldn't it have been wonderful if he had finished FFTB with his usual long note for BRAAAAAAAAAAAVE and the sailing hands!? PERFECTION!
QM
Diva, I think the video disappeared when they re-did the website. *fumes*
LMAO QM. That description made my night.

QM, we can't have that. You don't want the audience to OD on Camp, do you?
Diva- Great song, great band. Morning View. If you get it, tell me how you like it.
Hip action, huh?
omg... *thud*
*nods*
Hips. Not like Raul's but oh my.
Hips were .... thrusting... all over the place.
QM
Insomniak, he was my campy disco captain!
*chokes*
I think... I'm somewhat glad that I only saw the 'tamer' version and was already out of the country by the time he did it the second time around...
