Did they think it was a good thing or did they realize that they're obsessive pyschopaths?
Can you PM me with the site name?
Oh, no. They thought it was a wonderful thing. Hence my laughter.

Maybe if they stopped swooning long enough to, I dunno, listen to the song, they'd grow up.
You're welcome, Nia. (It's hard to keep typing out your full name. And by the way, you keep typing mine as "Chole," but it's "Chloe." Why did I choose a weird name like that?)
I've been thinking about "Book of Endings," since there's been so much talk about it, and have decided it's not one of the songs Adam's written as "himself." Some obviously are, like "I'm With You" and "Beautiful Song," but "Ten Thousand Miles" is not. He's obviously not someone who's stranded somewhere out on an island, so he's writing the song from the point of view of a character. Probably the same with "No Trace" about trying to get over someone who's moved on (though given our earlier discussion...). So my guess is that he started thinking about the whole situation with fan craziness and came up with a song written from the point of view of a character who's the focus of that, not necessarily himself, though obviously he's experienced some of that stuff.

Sorry, Chloe! I'll watch my spelling a little closer. And it's fine to just abbreviate to Nia, I like the nickname.
I'm a little hazy on what you mean by writing that song not as himself, but I think you're saying that he's talking about crazy fans in general, not just his own. Did I interpret your post correctly?
Exactly. The song is more of a generalization than Adam actually 'speaking,' but some of the points are (and I hide under my chair as I say this, in shame) pretty valid.
Yeah, I think so. For instance, I doubt if he's "put in new alarms" or he's the type who'll make someone cry because he's just that kind of guy. I think the song is partly based on his own experiences, but is not really about him and his fans, but about crazy fans and idols in general. Updated On: 12/4/04 at 07:17 PM

I do think that some of that is based upon his own experience. As for the crying line... who knows? Maybe he does truly loathe us but is careful not to show it because his career depends on it.
I dunno, he doesn't seem like the loathing type. He might get irritated sometimes though, as anyone might.

I've actually never heard the song .
I don't have the CD yet. But I'm sure even Adam has been a 'crazy fan' before. Experience on both sides?
Allie! Go get the cd! It's amazing!
But yeah- I'm sure he has been a crazy fan over someone-- probably a rock star or band or something
Yeah. I've definitely seen Adam get kind of bitchy, but it's only when people get over-the-top obnoxious. The fact that he has gotten irritated and shows it kind of tells me that that's not his nature.
And yeah, Allie... good point. He says he still "freaks out like an idiot" around Billy Joel.
Get that CD!
Right, I think I remember reading that he didn't know what to say to Billy Joel
ETA: Or, what Emcee said.

Anyone who'd name their child after a rock star is certainly a devoted fan, to say the least. The question is this- is a crazy fan someone who's crazy in love with the music and maybe the artists themselves, or are you only crazy if you stalk them? I doubt he's followed any Beatles, but he might be a tad obsessive over their work. I don't know that the latter is a horrible thing, you just have to be careful that you don't go too far.
Chloe, you never know. He's an actor and this is his entire career, depending on fans. You'd hide loathing well too if you were him.
See, I think my 'craziness' is totally healthy. There's a line that you don't cross, though. And, well, his music is HEAVILY Beatles-influences. Guess it makes sense for the kid to have the namesake, too.
And, well, if it REALLY bugged him that much, he's messing with the WRONG industry. I think you can sort of tell when he's dealing because he has to and when he's really enjoying it.

Hopefully he enjoys most of it.
And I think we're boarderline crazy... sporks? I suppose that's more goofy-crazy than truly scary, but still.
Emcee, your craziness is probably unhealthy, but I love you for it.
Okay, let me re-phrase. It could be worse.
And right - more, goofy "I mean this with love" crazy. Not "I'm following you home" crazy.
Speaking of craziness, how long have I been on this board now? Must go have a life for a while... It's been fun guys.
Well, well... look what I've missed .
, but he might be a tad obsessive over their work. I don't know that the latter is a horrible thing, you just have to be careful that you don't go too far.
*ahem* There's nothing wrong with being a tad obsessive about the Beatles' work. .

Were your Beatles senses were tingling and you just had to pop over, amasis?
And slight obsessions are just fine and dandy.
I guess so. I was just enjoying my sunday morning and all of a sudden thought: "must check BWW."

Have any of you ever met Adam? Was he nice?
Oh my gosh- Emcee has met him SOO many times!
I'm personally too scared to meet him because I always become star-struck and I'm afraid I'll be a babbling idiot.

And I'm in Nova Scotia. I don't he's ever been here.
