I'm here too... just had to go eat dinner.
Adam and the red microphone... this sounds interesting.
Does it match his shoes?? But I'd love to hear the story!
Nice to hear you had a mostly-good day Diva. And yes. BWW is better than homework
Aww NTG hope you feel better soon
My day was pretty good. I had a voice lesson today, and Noday likes to pick on me just because we knew eachother before she became a voice coach, and shes been a friend of the family's for a while. Anyways. So she has a very unique way of having voice recitals. They're like mini broadway shows. There are costumes and sometimes props, and sometimes dancing (no set pieces, just different colored lighting). On their lastlesson of the month, everyone in her program sings a set audition song for her, and she casts us for the voice recital. She takes our preferences into consideration when she assigns the songs. Well, I told her I wanted to sing 'As long as you're mine' with someone, and she said that she would make that happen. Well, she did make that happen, only not with the girl I wanted. Instead, its with the one girl in the program whom I specifically told NoDay NOT to assign me a song with. Shes awful. Like I can't even begin to describe it, except that there is deffinately a reason that shes getting voice lessons. So yea, then today we were working on the blocking etc for the song, and I find out not only do I have to sing with her, but I have to kiss her too. Gaah.
So yea. Noday is out to get me, so give her a hard time when she comes back hehe.
Haha! Okay, I'll remember that.
Hey, Glory, can I kidnap you? I wanted to do ALAYM for competition this year, but there's no good male singers at my school...
Ooh, I'm sorry you have to sing, then kiss her, Glory! That sounds awful!
Nice icon, NTG!!
Thank you, Diva!
Ugh, now I'm being forced to eat...
'Hey, Glory, can I kidnap you? I wanted to do ALAYM for competition this year, but there's no good male singers at my school...'
No need to even bother with the legal issues surrounding kidapping... I'll be right over haha
Love the new icon by the way...
God this girl is driving me insane already... she called me and was like 'so when are we gonna practice' and I told her that we've already run the song a billion times and that I thought that would be enough, and she said 'no silly the *blocking*' like I was some sort of idiot...
I hate people who are so outgoing-ly flirty like that.
I dunno if I'll be able to stand this. She's like the biggest wicked fan I've met in person. Everything that I sing 'is wrong because Norbert didn't sing it like that'. She thinks Idina is God and 'really wanted the defying gravity solo but was sick on the audition day'. If she ever posted on bww, she would be torn to pieces before her 2nd post.
Okay. Excuse the vent. Just really pissed off at the moment.
::hugs::
This is semi-connected...I think I'm gonna have a recording of myself for you guys by next week. Assuming that I get my voice back enough by Friday to make a decent one.
shizkids *shivers*
you need a nice little q~tip Kyle, or at least a RentHead
Ever notice that shizkids who were Rentheads first are the sane ones?
" Ever notice that shizkids who were Rentheads first are the sane ones?"
It's because we have something else that we love on Broadway.
'Ever notice that shizkids who were Rentheads first are the sane ones?'
Yea really... I guess its the content. Rent is a pretty mature show. After all of the issues Rent covers, it makes Wicked look kind of shallow if that makes any sense. Plus, if you were a Renthead first, then you probably liked Idina before she got all the Wicked fame.
So whatchya gonna sing for us NTG?
I agree show Wicked looks shallow. I don't think the book is. And I still love the music. I think that the fact that we like Rent shows that we are capable of deeper thoughts.
Anyway...
I'm singing a rock version of O Holy Night. I sort of stole it from Rent's version on last year's Carols for a Cure.

I'm actually the opposite. I liked Wicked first (mostly because The Wizard of Oz was the first musical I saw and performed in), then started listening to Rent after a friend gave it to me for Hanukkah a year ago.
adding on- Compared to Rent, Wicked does appear to be somewhat shallow. The book, though, is definately less shallow than the musical. Although I still found the musical to be rather moving (just not as moving as Rent, of course)

But you still like both. So you qualify as sane.
'So you qualify as sane. '
Or as close to that as a bww poster can get
(and that goes for all of us)

wow, I'm sane!
my brother constantly says otherwise... but then again, he's my younger brother, so I guess something would be wrong if he thought otherwise...
About to post about Phantom... just sayin' hi.
Did NTG ever figure out the mic thing?
'Did NTG ever figure out the mic thing? '
I don't think so. Do tell (if you know)
But post the phantom review first
Review posted. It's short. I know there's more I want to say, but I forgot.
No, I have no idea about the mic. I was curious, too.
Good post, as always, on POTO.
About the red mic: I only remember him having one at a gig, and it malfunctioned halfway through. And then he whined about it . Not much of a story...
*edited to add the words I'd skipped. How was it that I managed to lose whole words like that when constructing sentences??!? *sigh*

Whining? Adam? Gee, that's new.
*bump*
I believe someone said on the old AP.org forums that he cried when it broke???
I'm going to hope that was exaggerated...
I hope that's not true...
Poor baby. Get a new one, Adam.
He definitely whined. Pathetic...
I'm just in a nasty mood, I guess... if I can call Adam pathetic. I have a really hard final in less than two hours. I'm freaking out.
